Default Other Holidays

I've been curious about something since I joined here..........

How many of you decorate outdoors for other holidays as well as Halloween?

One of my neighbors said to me the other day, "Ohhhh, I can hardly wait to see what you do for Christmas". And I just stood there like a deer in headlights. I usually throw some lights around the eves of the house and call it real. LOL I have indoor decorations that I put out, and a tree, but the outside gets some lights and nothing more.

Do you go ALL out for other holidays or is Halloween your big decorating holiday?

We do a couple inflatables and lights for christmas outside then of course I've got quite a bit to decorate the inside but not nearly as much as we do for halloween. I actually think it's quite comical that I have more halloween stuff in my attic than I have for christmas.

I love do decorate for Christmas, but not outside.

Simply because as with a few of us on here, live in an area where if you your things out overnight, they'll disappear. It's fine for setting up outside on the 31st. But setting up christmas stuff on the 24th or 25th just wouldn't be practical haha.

I decorate big inside though, and always make sure the window displays are vibrant enough for those outside to enjoy.

I don't 'make' anything for Christmas, just halloween. Christmas usually consists of seeing how many lights I can burn and not throw a circuit breaker thingy. But, I plan to start building stuff for Christmas thanks to larry's other site/ forum.
And, for the 1st time this past Easter I actually put a bunny flag outside.

We do the same as you, toss some lights under the eaves and call it a day. In fact, our lights are already up, because they are red and enhance the haunt. lol. We just leave them up.

We do a tree, of course and indoor decorating but barely any outside; mind you, I'm in BC Canada and we can have up to 5 feet of snow out there! Mother Nature decorates for us!

I do nothing for Christmas... partially because I'm never in town and also because it all looks pretty silly in Florida when it's 80 outside.

halinar - you need some of those neon palm trees that are decorated for Christmas and how about some pink flamingos with wreaths around their necks? LOL

No snow here - unless we make our own. I often wish it would snow, just once on Christmas, but it's never happened.

There's a HOA up the street aways that puts on an annual contest each year. Some of the decorations the homeowners do for Christmas blow my mind. I guess for me, it's a matter of lack of imagination. There's SO MUCH you can do with Halloween - Christmas and the like is limited, at least to me it is.

You just reminded me of a little story.

I have my orange lights around the fireplace, mantle, up around the big centerpiece mirror and such. And at Christmas we change them over to ice blue lights.

But last year a taxi cab came to pick me and some friends up to go into town for a night's drinking, and the driver started to tell me how it was way too early for christmas lights.

I was like "are you serious...they're orange..it's october...put two and two together"

I do a lot for Christmas as well. I hate to admit this...but I bought a Charlie Brown Christmas tree decoration this past Saturday. After Halloween and Christmas I am done for the year. My daughter gets mad because I don't do Easter but I think I make up for it with the 2 holidays I do manage to do.
