I try to do some Christmas decorating, I really do. I have my peanuts gang cut-outs that I disply in the yard and I'm very fond of them. It's just that by the time I've gotten the lights all strung and hung on the house, you plug it all in and there it is - that one string that won't light, even though it worked fine when you checked them an hour ago. So I climb back up and check the fuses and change if neccessary, climb back down and plug them back in and - you guessed it - another string is out! So this goes on a few hours until either all lights work and I'm happy or I'm ripping all lights down and saying a few not-so-christmasy phrases.

Same here Madame ~ Hence why I just bought all new LED lights. Last year, while taking my regular glass lights down, I broke several of them. I was so mad, I tossed all of the strings in the garbage. I was furious. We'll see if I have any better luck with the LED strings. If not, more lights for the garbage.

We do the same thing for christmas every year. A few lights and a santa with sleigh and reindeer in the front garden. Not nearly as big or creative as what we do with halloween

Oh and before some smarty pants makes the comment AGAIN....NO THE SANTA WAS NOT TAKING A LEAK!

We are hoping to do something more than a wreath on the front door this year.
We plan to trim the eaves in white lights, and the other half purchased these large christmas ball ornaments for the holly tree we have in front of the house.
A couple more wreaths on the windows, and we should look pretty good.
And for you people who say there's not as much to do for Christmas... I can think of a lot of serious display possibilities, the sort that Haunters could do really well, with all their animatronic, electric and lighting, figure-making and mache skills. Stuff like...
A bunch of carolers under a victorian gaslight.
A toy shoppe.
A Nativity scene, if you want.
Two or three trees covered in ornaments.
The Ghosts of Christmas and Ebenezer Scrooge.
Bob Crachit with Tiny Tim on his shoulders.
A fireplace with glowing logs and stockings and candles.
The Grinch and Max the dog.
Frosty the Snowman.
Rudolph and Hermie (and Yukon Cornelius, and the Abominable)
Angels.
Victorian style Santas holding torches or lanterns.
Gingerbread people.

Hey Spats ~ Where did you get the large ornaments? I looked yesterday, but I guess I'm not using the right "search" terms.

LOL...carefull, this is how I got started. First Halloween. Then X-mas. Pretty soon you will have everybody in town expecting their favorite holiday to get some love. I now do Thankgiving, St.Pats, Valentines and the 4th of July as well. On the plus side when people ask where you live they will instantly know where you are talking about.

Oh yeah I do Easter too but mother nature takes care of most of that with spring blooms. Does somebody want to tell me how to do Groundhog Day?
