the website encyclopedia dramatica? My daughter loves to draw and used to post pictures at deviant art, well someone took her picture and posted it on this other site(encyclopedia dramatica) and what they do is make fun of it. The site is real foul and adult like. Their mission is to go to different websites and cause drama (trolling basically) and then report back. I was furious that they did this but then I realized you cannot control what types of idiots have access to the internet. A girl my daughter chats with sent her the link to show her what they did and once she realized it was a foul website she immediately got out of there. Don't people have anything better to do than to tear apart a 12 year olds' drawings? The sad part is she is actually really very good at it(we pay for extra art lessons) and it gave a blow to her self esteem momentarily. I guess I'm just venting about how stupid people can be. They would never have the nerve to say it to someones's face but the internet makes it like open season on anyone.

Encyclopedia Dramatica is claimed to have been started as a satire of Wikipedia, but it has devolved into what you just described and worse.
It is a hate site pure and simple. They attack anyone and everyone and provoke people into dramatic overreactions which amuses them. It's a safe haven for trolls.

They don't care who they are attacking, why they are attacking them, or even if they deserve such a treatment. It's all a game to them. The best way to deal with them is to ignore them. Sites like DeviantArt give you the option to report trolls and they will remove them. All they want is attention to make themselves feel better. The animosity of the internet turns many people into lowlife bullies.

I feel bad that this has happened to your daughter. It really shouldn't happen to young children but they seem to be more easily targeted, probably because many trolls are younger teens themselves. Try to keep her spirits up and let her know that some faceless jerk on the internet can't control who she is as an artist.

It wasn't even a troll. Someone from that site came to deviant art and took the picture she drew and posted it on EP for everyone to make fun of. She's ok now but she was baffled about who would do this and why. She's decided not to post anymore of her work on deviant art because this happened. I could not believe the Ads that were posted on EP. It was all totally adult content stuff. Until yesterday I had no idea this site even existed. Thank you for the kind words though, i really do appreciate it.
