Stan Lee has sold us out. What can I say?

However...get ready for some absolute BLOCKBUSTER superhero films over the next few years. They've been talking for years about doing "Werewolf By Night" as a major motion picture.

But, you're right, it doesn't seem right, somehow. Back in the day Marvel was the Black Sheep of comicdom, the Oakland Raiders of pulp, da Bad Boyz. Anti-Establishment. They were cool. Now they've gone completely mainstream.

And what are they going to do with the big Marvel section at Islands of Aventure.....at Universal?

Oh well, I guess it's the sign of the times. Budweiser owned by the Belgiums? Govnm't owns Chevy and Chrysler?

    Weird times....weird times....

It is indeed strange but I'm optimistic that some good will come of this.

Stan Lee is associated with marvel but really has no control anymore.

Terra - my brother and I thought about that too. They can either leave it be and just have universal pay a royalty or let DC or some other comic place pull a major overhaul and take over.

Either way I don't like it, not with the way Disney has had its stuff going.

I'm totally bummed. Disney tones down everything and makes it "child friendly". Sanitises moves until you just want to puke. There goes the great comic characters to having "cutesy" personalities.

One can hope for Werewolf by Night, (Moon Knight, my personal favorite, began as a villain in that comic, in fact, my avatar is a Moon Knight edition with Werewolf by Night IN it....) but I'ld be quite wary of such a thing in the hands of Disney.

Disney buying DC would make sense...NOT Marvel. Bleh.

My son is telling me the G4 news is saying The Avengers and Thor movies have been cancelled as fallout of this.

I keep hearing this but no one backs up any evidence. What has Disney taken and made so "cutesy" and "kid friendly"?

Pretty much anything Disney proper gets their hands on. Walt Disney studios is about child friendly films. Animation, and live action.

But, they HAVE been leaving Pixar alone, for the most part, and the Jerry Bruckheimer films dept has been mostly left alone. Yes, both are "Disney" in name, but operate independantly. If they do the same with Marvel, it might not be so bad.

    Hey, it'll be great!!

Iron Pinocchio / Spider-mouse / Donald "Wolverine" Duck (c'mon...tell me he doesn't NEED those claws).

And don't try to tell me Captain America won't be riding the floats beside Mickey in the parades...
    ...eating apple pie, no less.

    Think of all the possibilities!
Hell is an eternity of getting up at 4am to nothing but decaf coffee...

2009 photos and 2008 photos ...uhmmm...and what I have evolving...
