I hate to be melancholy, as opposed to my usual jubilous mood, but I thought I'd let you guys go ahead and know. My grandma is on the verge of death. The doctor says she may have 4 weeks or less to live before she's dead. This is extremely saddening to me since I had some fond memories of her (some of which are Halloween related). I just feel down right now, and I need as many helping hands as I can get.

Awww, I pray that you will find strength to get through this time. It is wonderful that you have such a strong connection with your grandmother. I am sure she treasures that and is comforted by it.

Sorry to hear about your grandma, mrh, my prayers are with you and your family. Cherish those memories. When my husband passed away in 1980, an angel (I've never known who it was) came to the funeral and told me that they were never really gone as long as we have memories of them. I had to learn to be grateful for the time that I had with him instead of being upset that he was gone. Vaya con Dios.

Know that you've got people pulling for you, MrHamilton - nothing ever fully prepares us for times like this, but hopefully you'll be able to draw some strength from the folks here.

I'm glad you have fond memories, and that some involve your favorite holiday - you'll be able to honor those memories in years to come, and keep your grandmother with you, even after she's passed on.
Hell is an eternity of getting up at 4am to nothing but decaf coffee...

2009 photos and 2008 photos ...uhmmm...and what I have evolving...
