Oh, how sad.

Teddy, We Hardly Knew Ye...

Talk about a life touched by tragedy. The world will be poorer without him, the last of what was to become The Kennedy Dynasty. May this troubled soul finally rest in peace.

...from the guys in the press room who used to remember back in the day when we would have Chinese after putting the radio stations and newspapers to bed..here are their recollections and stories..

Ever hear how some folks say Charlie Watts waited all his life to be middle aged? That it suited him? Same with Ted. He was BORN to be the kind thoughtful uncle who could make you feel good.
Word was everyone he knew could recall how he had something 'special' for them.
He could make you feel like the most important person in the room..
He had a sense of optimism...that the human state could be improved...and a smile that made you think you were going to be let in on the best, funniest joke of the week.
He was the master of saying the right word to the right person at the right time.
JFK won West Virginia not by mob money as some say, but by going to about a billion poor Protestant women, shaking their hands, looking them in the eye, and softly whispering;"Thank you SO much for coming to see me.."
Bobby was a live wire who would drink with Bobby Darin in the back of the campaign plane and sing "Mack the Knife". When he announced he was running in '68 Nixon nearly plotzed in front of the t.v. he watched.
Teddy was the Elder Statesman..."What can I do for you?" "How can I make you happy?"
Not a bad legacy.

I hear they are going to make a memorial library in his honor. It will be the first of its kind. The Ted Kennnedy Memorial Library and Bar.
