Just wondering if anyone would like to join a "support group" to lose a few pounds. I keep telling myself I need to get to the gym, but then I find a bag of Doritos in my hand and the TV on. (it's the strangest thing)
There is a website The Ticker Factory where you can design and maintain a ticker to show your progress.
I'm hoping to lose some weight before Halloween, so I'm starting today.
Please feel free to join in. You don't have to make a ticker if you don't want to, but if you want to be supportive, share tips and tricks, or pass on good recipes, please join in!
At this time, I don't really have a reward in mind, but we can discuss if that's the motivation you need.
My hope is to get back into my 36 inch jeans by Halloween.

Fantastic! Glad to know a few people are interested. If not participating, in placing bets on whether or not I'll succeed.

When to the gym this morning and did an hour of cardio on the treadmill. Just trying to get back into the excercise slow.
The big trick is eating right. A cup of coffee and a cup of fat-free yogurt welcomed me for breakfast.

My heart would explode way before I hit an hour on the treadmill.
Be polite. Be professional. But, have a plan to kill everyone you meet.

I'm just walking right now. About 4.5 on the treadmill, with an incline of 8-10. My cardio is fine, I walk, bicycle, do the treadmill, etc. But it still doesn't cancel out my food intake of chips, beer, candies, pasta, hamburgers, cheese & crackers, nachos, etc. That's where I really need to cut back. I've done it before, and I know I can do it again -- but it's really nice to have support.
My wife tries, but then she gets dark chocolate espresso beans from the store, or wants to try the new perogis from Costco, etc, etc. Of course, my wife stays beautiful and thin! She just had a baby two months ago and she's already back down to a little, hardly noticeable bump.
My pregnancy sympathy bump is not decreasing in size -- hence the exercise and diet.

If anyone else is serious about tracking their progress, there is a website The Ticker Factory where you can design and maintain a ticker to show your progress.
That's what my ticker is down below. I haven't changed it yet, because this is my first official day of diet and exercise.
