Younger ween has a croup cough, hopefully it doesn't turn into something worse. Trying to get our float done for the Homecoming parade Friday. Extremely windy today; had to pull everything into the garage. But it's coming together, so we're getting excited.

This was a very interesting day at work- there was a caiman found in a pond here in the city yesterday, and someone finally caught it today! Someone had probably dumped it when it got too big to be a family pet, and we picked it up to hold at our facility until a reptile zoo could take it. But since it was so cold today, it was decided to bring it into the office so it could warm up! Seeing this up close was probably the coolest hour of work I've had in a while.

Just passing by. Float for our parade is done. I posted it in the props and its in my photos if anyone wants to see! Other than that.. taking a couple days off from the haunt to recoup.

Hubbys sister died last wednesday. Went to the funeral saturday. His brother is still in the hospital Doing better I guess.

And holy cow, do those flood pics take me back. Of course we've never had anything so large-scale up here, but wowzahs. I hope you guys are staying safe.


Today it is insanely windy. I was woken up by a massive gust that, for a foggy moment, I thought was going to topple the house. After weeks of unseasonably high temps it's finally starting to feel like late September. I'm actually cold sitting here in front of the open window, listening to the ocean-like hiss and roar of the wind through the trees...and our new neighbor's large metal windchimes. The poor dog can't rest, all the commotion outside is really distressing for her.

It'll be 60 degs F tomorrow as a high! I like the sound of that. As I was working on my demon prop out in the garage, the wind was blowing huge clouds of rustling yellow leaves down the street. Everything is turning here...the vine outside my window becomes a more striking shade of crimson every time I glance at it. Tonight I will have to cover up the four bowl-shaped gourds that have managed to grow despite the beetles which are swiftly destroying this plant. The gourds are all a very good size, I'd hate to loose them in our first freeze of the year.
Italian exam tonight. Wish me luck...

sorry to hear about the bad news, Lynn...that is heartbreaking...

meanwhiile, I'm in the same town as Barbarella, and the croc was caught by some guy who...are you ready for it? went up behind it and grabbed by the neck...I am at a loss as to figure out if this was neat or really stupid...my gal has a chinese crested, so when he pooed upstairs I was threatening to turn him into a croc-a-taco...he knew I was bluffing and just went back to sleep...smug little punk...

Our parade is saturday. I am still working on my werewolf costume. trying to finish it in time.
We'll see. The pants for it is a little tight now that I have put on a little weight I hate that!
