Lynn, I am so sorry to hear about your brother in law aand also your sister! thoughts and prayers go out to you!
On a scale of what is happening to Lynn, this isn't high on the list, but my sweet bird, Fred, a cockatiel died today. He was 19. He was such a sweet guy, gave me kisses, never ever bit. And I have had so much on my mind with my daughter leaving, I am afraid I let his food and water not be changed as much as it should of. there was some in his little bowl things but they needed more. and I am so stressed that I am scared I waited to long,. I know he was old, I had him 19 years, and he was 21 years old, I will wonder and worry about this the rest of my life, my poor little guy. I loved him so much,

Hey kiddies!
Lynn, my dear, I'm so sorry to hear about everything you've been dealing with. When it rains it pours. I will keep you in my thoughts.
Barb - my dad had a cat that lived to be 26. I swear it was a record or something. But anyway, that makes 14 seem like a kitten
Well, looks lilke my big video game theme Halloween party is going to be postponed until next year.
It really sucks too because I've been working on my costume for the last 2 weeks. Turns out I need lumbar fusion surgery. I found out today and have been drinking my blue uv and lemonade since I got home. Feeling much better now!
I miss you guys every day! I can't wait to not be in pain and be on the computer at the same time! woo hoo!
{{{hugs}}}"Not everything is strippers and booze and buckets of blood. Why do you guys have buckets of blood?"

Oh my gosh, LH, that's sucks. Do you know what caused the problem to begin with? Geez, it's turning into a recovery ward on the weekly! I go in to see an orthopedic specialist next week to see about getting my hip joint resurfaced with titanium, I'm actually pretty psyched for the same reason- the idea of being pain-free will totally be worth setting off metal detectors wherever I go!
Bethane~ Just think of all the awesome times you had with Fred... I had no idea cockatiels could live that long to begin with! Those of us with animals are always so lucky for the companionship they give us.
Lynn~ Lots of warm thoughts and prayers to you and your family, what a load to bear all at once.
Well, I went to the Western Fair last night, which is the largest fall fair in the area, and what a disappointment. When I was a kid, my favourite part was going to see all the agricultural stuff (ya know, being a city girl and all that, when the heck do I get to pet cows, pigs and horses?) especially the produce competitions- huge cornstalks, gourds and of course pumpkins! But there were also scarecrow contests, and weird stuff like the craziest decorated rocking chair, etc. Most of the fair was the carnival now, it's totally lost that balance between the rides and the farmer's show. *sigh* Maybe if I have time I can hit up some small town local fairs before Halloween.

Barbarella, thank you, while it still hurts, i have started the healing as far as thinking of the funny things he did, it is just so dog gone quiet in the house now!
LH, that's too bad, good luck with the surgery! when is it?

Hey guys, do you mind if I hop in?

To everyone who is experiencing some hardship...positive thoughts and good vibes will be sent your way.
It is very noisy outside, I must say. Although I don't mind a bit! This is the last day of our Championship Air Races and being somewhat close to the air field, we seem to witness a lot. I've gotten to the point where I can recognise whether or not it's a souped up P-51 Mustang or a sleek little kit plane...perhaps a Glasair III...zooming over our house by the rumble/whine of the engines. Since neither myself or my grandmother -- a retired pilot who was nearly part of the woman's racing team back in the day -- have not been to the races for years, I talked her into finding an overlook someplace where perhaps we could see a few things. Well, as luck would have it, we actually stumbled upon a vacant field a mile or so away from the bowl, and had perfect frontrow seats for the Blue Angels show, two races and two short demonstrations...one with a B17 Flying Fortress I believe! It was incredible (and deafening, as the Angels especially were about 75-100 feet directly above our heads going at full speed a couple of times...this was their first year back since 2000!). But really special and I think we'll both always remember that day. Despite the wind everything went smoothly and everyone seemed to be on top of their game. And we didn't have to pay a dime (or suffer through any large crowds).
Yes, I am an aviation nut. I'd love to get my private pilot's liscence and have a small craft of my own. I just need monies. D:

Morning everyone. I think Georgia is going to float away. Either that or we'll all drown.
Oh look, another glorious morning. Makes me SICK!
