Hola everyone! Finally getting some decent weather around here, which I'm happy about- feels more like summer, maybe that'll mean this will last through October? Been seeing the beginnings of fall stuff in the stores with all the school supplies, all I can say is *yay*!

Joe~ good luck with your search for a new family member, that sounds like a neat mix- do you prefer the smaller dogs? I'd love to have one myself, but not ready for it now.

It was actually BELOW 100 degrees this afternoon when I went to do errands. It felt down right chilly.

Thank you for the new weekly MM!

Hello to the new posters on the weekly. Jump in to the deep end. The shallow end is a little warmer for some reason

Joe - I couldn't have gone to a shelter because I'd get attached to some poor soul and be sad that I couldn't take them all.

Brandy - this time WILL be better. It must, therefore so shall it be

Moon - my sistah! Have a great time on your trip.

Randyman - drive safely ya Okie! Make sure that kiddo keeps you awake.

Today was the first day back to school. The boys passed out earlier (they are grounded anyway but that's another story) and the house hasn't been this quiet in years.

Brandy... Thanks for the invite, I'll try to keep up with you regulars. We haven't seen a 100 degree day all summer. Been great not to have to run the $$$ AC!

Moon... Have a safe trip and hope your pop is doing well.

Hauntiholik... Kids out of the house, lucky you. Now you have all this extra time to yourself for prop building.

bethene... What can I say.... Have a boring day? LOL

As for me, we've got out of town guests coming this weekend so its clean, clean, clean scheduled for today.

I can't believe school is starting already. I never feel like I have a summer, but I feel bad for people that do and it passes so quickly (I'm also jealous of them).

I prefer fall and winter so don't mind seeing summer gradually coming to a close. Although IL is finally going to feel like summer this weekend. We should hit 90 degrees.

moon - have a safe wonderful trip

brandy - if below 100 is chilly to you, you would have needed a winter jacket here most of summer

Haunt - I'm really curious what the boys did now to get punished

Ewwww, school! Wow, so soon. I agree with MrsM, it was never a nice thing, but you've gotta love having all that time totally off to be able to do whatever you wanted.

So we've got some Highland games in my neck of the woods this weekend, and I have to work. Today's my day off, thinking about going up for it, but there doesn't seem to be anything cool on today's schedule until the pipe bands and tattoo this evening- all the heavy events and big burly dudes tossing telephone poles and anvils are happening tomorrow! *sigh* Stupid work...always ruining my fun!

Tuesday night they asked if they could play with a friend who lives 4 houses down. They went off to play. The door bell rang an hour later and a total stranger was standing there with one of the boys all banged up and bloody. It turns out that the boys did not go where they asked to go, they took their bikes without letting us know (it was dusk and they shouldn't have been on bikes) and they went out without helmets. The main thing was that they went a couple blocks away and we had NO idea where they were. Good thing the boy didn't break his arm.
