After complaining and wining enough, Wifeypoo finally let the purse strings loose so I can get a new video camera! Our last one, bought almost 20 years ago, has served it's time and captured many memories but the battery (3rd replacement) is shot and the buttons are fiesty. (JVS VHS-C type).

So on Wednesday, I should be getting a package at the front door. And like my sheltie, I'll bark, jump, and spin around eagerly with my tongue hanging out as I race to the door and wait for someone to open it.

Here's the one I'll be getting.

Thanks! I have a prepared statement, "Senator, I can neither confirm or deny the contents of that video..."

I'm hoping to get some good low-light video of the haunt this year. I've been using a crappy digital camera that takes low-rez video and sucks in low-light.

    Way to stimulate the economy!
Wait till after the camera arrives to bark, jump and spin with your tongue hanging out so you can get it on video and share with us

I hear that's a reasonably good camera. Make sure you can manually adjust the exposure if you want to shoot your haunt.

I've been tracking the progress of the camera, as it makes it's trek across the country. Yesterday afternoon it made it's way into Ontario, CA.

Delivery day is today, and I'm cutting out of work early so I can camp on my front step with binoculars and a cooler.

In worse news, my 32" Sony tv that is only 5 years old, died last week. The repair guy said it would cost $400 to repair it. What the...?!

In better news, Wifeypoo and I are going to the store this week to shop for a new flat screen tv.

Sorry bout your tv, I bought my gf a 47" Sony Tv for her birthday on May 9, it worked about a week then the picture went out, I took it back to Walmart and had no problems getting a new one , this time I bought the warranty for two years. If Jim Carey is delivering your camera I wouldnt accept it ( Ace Ventura Pet Detective)

Yeah we've been waiting for our tv to break down too so we have an excuse to buy a flatscreen

    *cabbage patch*

I barked, jumped, and spun in circles as the UPS truck stopped in front of my house yesterday to drop off my camera. WooHoo!

I was pretty surprised when I pulled it out fo the small box and put it in my hand. It's like holding a soda can, it's that small. I've been messing with the controls and so far it's pretty good. Even though it doesn't have Night Shot (the greenish-tint video) it does great in very low light. My back porch, lit only with 1 light, looked like it was daytime using the Night setting. This bodes well for Halloween...

In worse news, Me, Wifeypoo, and my 2 daughters were on our way to the store to get a new flat screen TV, when the van engine died. I was able to get it started a few times and limp off the highway to downtown, waiting for the tow truck. I gladly pay the extra $6 a month insurance for free towing! I went with the tow truck to our mechanic, and my son came to pick up my girls.

The tv will have to wait while we fix the van.
