Watching "Home Improvement" (my favorite) and wondering if they will ever make another sitcom the whole family can enjoy?
Shows that we like today, I can't let my little one watch with us. Think about it... pretty much every show has an "edge" today because they think they have to do it.
Yesteryear: Full House - single father gets help from best friend and brother-in-law to raise his 3 daughters. Each episode teaches us something about life.
Today: Single gay father and his alcoholic life partner and womanizing brother-in-law share the house with his pregnant teenage daughter, anorexic daughter and bi-racial meth-addicted infant. Each show reminds us how much the real world stinks.

I have agree , Wilbret, every thing today has that vibe, the sexuality under the guise of humor, and so many people let their kids watch it, and then they wonder what when srong with the kids today?!? I have no little ones any more , but I don't even like alot of them, I stick to my hour drama's or read. Take " Two and a Half Men", everything that is goin on with that child in the house, and in real life, when the boy who is the actor, having him exposed to all that , he was quite young when it started. I don't know, I guess I am a old fuddy duddy. Show that are on later, and for adults, ok what ever, but shows on early, are supposed to be geared more toward kids, but those seem to be gone,
Wilbret, I give you a lot of credit for even thinking about this, and not letting your little one watch, good for you!

Yeah, I agree, at the risk of sounding really old, I can't believe the stuff they show on TV these days!
And if it's not the content of the show itself, it's the ads for male enhancement and KY products. I'd hate to have to explain those to a four year old, ya know?

Ok, I'm thinking Ugly Better might be a good one to term a family show.
Good vs Evil with good winning out.
Being different and being ok with it.
Dealing with peer pressure to fit in.
A strong family background.
Oh and the trans-sexual is out of the show now

We pretty much have to screen ALL movies for our 13 and 11 year old sons. Even some the PG-rated movies wound easily have been rated R back in the eighties. It's depressing how the studios feel that they have to "sex up" their movies in order to keep peoples attention.

If sex is important to the story its fine. But sometimes it gets a little much.

Sex sales. You do not need it in movies if you have good writers. Take Titanic, that movie was (to me anyways) as boring as the original was.
Sex helped sale that movie I am sure.
I can live without sex in movies......heck just put on Madagascar 1 or 2 and I am happy or better yet Ice Age.

My kids were raised on the vintage LOONEY TUNES and MERRY MELODIES..and I would play them the Hitchcocks and Universal horrors. My son and I are always reciting lines back and forth to each other from one movie or another or from a comedy album I might play for him..I think the key is to watch the tube with your kids and get involved when you can...But right now, the biggest movie of the YEAR box office wise is MONSTERS VS. ALIENS...so the market is there...by the way my son thanked me the other night when he got to show his pals a vintage Hitchcock and knew all the folk lore behind it...they were impressed...and my mission in this life was complete...
