    ~ Soul Strippers or Life Bearer's ~

The time draws near, I feel their presence their tentacles extending outward to establish contact. My immortal soul begins to quiver, my heart sombre-why my essence do they seek to eradicate?
They Come under the pretense of being life bearer's but my spirit whispers they are soul strippers. Why is it, assimilation they demand or annihilate they command...
Dark gazing traveller's and magickal passionate beings of Lore once ruled-what an exquisite place it was. My heart beckons, why can't there be a celestial bridge, a seemless otherworldy universe where both could subsist. A truth to be summoned where darklings, mystics & all fabled souls could journey between the seemingly treasured shores-a place where inspiring the muse is valued.
Why do they fear the sacred sensual beauty of the darkness and refuse to embrace the tempting of their own inner muse. Why are they compelled to destroy transshifters, voices of the heart & rhythms from deep within?
They fear the veil of exploration, decline to journey into ethereal sensual realms, Oh how does hollowness please them so?
Awareness of realignment needed I will not deny, but to stip me of my darkened essence I would seemingly die, after all I was born a creature of the night.
Why do they fear the darkness, unable to apprecaite moonlit skies or is it fear of converging with their own soul? Can they not see that without darkness there can be no light...
Sentinals prepare to guard these great walls, talons extend to all who dare to entomb my lair. A creature born of shadow & deep passion I shall rise above their savage hunger, their beckoning and promises forever lost to mere echo's~none shall tresspass here!
They think of me as sinister, my haunting melodies they fear, yet I shall laugh, summoning them to venture forth...if they dare.
Their task is simple, no mercy they know, slay the creature of darkness so I am told.
I stand resolved, soul strippers heed my warning, arm yourselves dearly-Welcome to my personal sanctuary, be mindful of the omen~Enter only during daylight hours and "May Daylight be with You"

Ah Dutchess, you such a class act.
You dive right in and put your emotions on display for all to see and it has more levels then most of us can count. Your poem/memoir/mindset is as usual quite dramatic, quite good and maybe even art.
Usually I won't try to come after something like this, but the CHANCE to follow along with what my own mindset right now is JUST too hard to resist...so...

Ever see NATIONAL TREASURE? With Nicholas Cage? He's been arrested in one scene and being questioned by Harvey Keitel. Keitel is playing with these glasses Cage found. They have different lenses that can be moved in front of the specs so that the treasure map can be read in the different light. Keitel moves the lenses up and down; click click. Cage is transfixed. The viewpoint changes suddenly and dramatically every time he does it.
That's what it's like for me right now.
    Click Click.
Its daylight savings time starting this week out here. Suddenly you have the angles of light and the amount of light more or less equal to what they are going to be when Halloween rolls around. You have a spring/fall overlapp that makes the time seem to stand still and at the same time speed up to October 2009.
You have the dead leaves that watched you hand out the candy in '08 rattle past in the yard, and the temp and shadows and dead grass are pretty close to what you remember things from the fall...
    Click click
March break is next week...and that's when the drive-ins would open and you would get your taste of monster movies and trash during the week off..with horror movies on the t.v. One year you stayed up until 2 in the morning to watch your Mom's fave horror flick..THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GREY..with the color inserts of the picture as it got worse and worse, to scare the heck out of you with their suddeness..There were no VCRs back then, let alone tape rentals. You had to WAIT until the movie you wanted to see came on the t.v. and sit up and wait for it.
    Click click
That one came to you when you were in the video store and you see they finally released DORIAN GRAY on DVD this year...Another comes on Sunday morning when you fix up some pancakes for the kid and he puts on ROY ORBISON and you remember it was spring when you bought your first copy of BORN TO RUN. You had to go out and figure out just WHO this Roy Orbison guy Bruce Springsteen was talking about was...and you would agree with Springsteen when he would say years later that the first five seconds of IT'S OVER might just be the best rock and roll ever written..and it just goes on from there...That one caused a major detour that consumed you...you got into all the old rock and roll gods and forgotten genres...surf, R&B, Tex Mex, New Orleans R&B, blues, Motown, Stax, Sun, Vee-Jay, Chess, Atlantic...the crooners like Pickett and Otis, Hank Ballard and dozens more..
    Click click
But then the past has always always been very real to you. And you've been hip to the fact that some people just don't LIKE Halloween ever since you first read THE PILLAR OF FIRE in Ray Bradbury's S IS FOR SPACE back in Grade Three.
Mr. Living Dead comes back to earth centuries from now when they have paved over Halloween and imagination and everything else and when they catch him and are taking him away to be burned he is yelling out all the ideas and things that will go up with him..and the folks taking him along just keep saying;"yes, yes, yes"...
And you went out and found all the writers Bradbury mentioned and read them and that lead to the pulps and then to the EC comics like TALES FROM THE CRYPT and then to the American International drive in movies and those led to things like PLAN NINE FROM OUTER SPACE and ROBOT MONSTER and those led to REAL masterpieces like BLACK SUNDAY from Bava and CARNIVAL OF SOULS...horror masterpieces..
    Click Click
But you know it could all GO...most folks don't listen to old time blues or rock and roll acts now. The music of your grandparents is GONE...their favorite singer was Harry Lauder..he entertained the troops in both world wars. You've heard his records. Were rasied on them...they are sentimetal sing a long stuff that has no PLACE now...sounds ALIEN in fact..but then Harry tells his jokes in an accent so thick he might as well be speaking Yiddish.
You remember another Bradbury story...the fictional characters and authors have fled to Mars and one of them says that the only reason THEY live is because the BOOKS live..
Will your grand daughter know who Louis Jordan was? Buddy Holly? The Ventures?
    Click Click
The only reason YOU know about Dr. Caligari was because grandma told you during March break as a bedtime story...the good doctor had a zombie he controlled and told it to kill this girl. But the zombie gets his OWN ideas, and...
It was years later in college you find out gramma had really given you a scene by scene rehash of THE CABINET OF DR. CALIGARI, a German expressionist masterpiece. (Try it with a movie you think you know sometime...it takes concentration..)
Sort of a legacy. Like finding out years after your grampas' story he told everyone in the car time after time was THE BOTTLE IMP by Robert Louis Stevenson..the guy who wrote DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE.
    Click click
And during the Phantom of the Opera fad, when EVERYONE had to see the stage play, a church in town had a neat fund raiser. They screened a print of the silent classic starring Lon Chaney. The organ would play underneath it...just like a theatre in the silent days. And it was in the spring and it was drafty in the church and you sat in pews.
And you knew that this was pretty close to what Gram and Gramp would have gone through 75, 80 years ago at the movies and you can almost feel them there with you.
    Click click
The bare leaves and sharp angles of light remind you of other Halloweens, other years, when you had two people from different countries over to see Halloween through fresh eyes. Neither country did Halloween and the experience blew them both away.
The first person sat on the steps and could not BELIEVE kids you didn't KNOW would come up and get candy and you would try and scare them A LITTLE and everyone was cool with this and dug it. And they wanted to know WHY...what was the PURPOSE of all of this?
And you told them it was to make EVERYONE feel good, and the explanation seemed reasonable to them...
The second loved it from the start and laughed soooo much..wanted to do it all..the candy, the costumes, the cheesy Halloween rock and roll..PLAN 9 for the first time..but also asked to see the orginal DRACULA and FRANKENSTEIN in all their black and white Universal glory...their country never showed those movies..and you ran them later, along with WHITE ZOMBIE..(yes, my children it was a Bela film first) and THE BLACK CAT..with that shot of the dead wife floating in the tank with the light underneath like some sort of aquarium.
The first person dug the Val Lewtons' the most..pulling poetry out of silence and darkness...maybe THE BODYSNATCHER with Karloff the most..
And you smile at the thought..yeah...poetry out of silence and darkness.
    Click click.
    While they live, you live...

Hello Uncletor, my kindred spirit, my dark companion, It's so wonderful to here from you. Somehow I just knew that although we walk a different pace we still walk the same path in deep inner expression of the heart, like two kindred spirits who can share the same moonlit skies in the same strange city, yet feel the other one's immortal heart beat, feel them course through your veins, it's like an otherworldly fixation, an unspoken connection.
Your mindset is equally impressive poetry, you describe so elequently, your love of the past. And it is because of you and your mom's love that I can better understand Dorian Grey FLicks, your gramma and her passion for Dr.Caligari. And I know that while you live-they too shall live. And because my passionates from the past who's minds retain it's beauty & pass it onto generations of the next, it will never be gone, even Roy Orbison's It's Over Shall remain in the souls of many forever, cast in stone, their legacy will continue, as long as you live-they live.

Thank-you for sharing your mindset with me, It really means a great deal, I was beginning to feel like maybe my immortal soul was doomed to roam this place forever to be entombed along with a twisted darkend mindset, but as uaual you came along and showed me there is still hope, that there may still be others out there who are transshifters, psyhic healers & voices of the heart who hold rhythms deep within them and not just hollowed ruins of lifelessness.

What a beautiful piece and I'm honoured that you decided to share it with us
    ^v^ My Kindred Spirit ^v^
May you forever be Cloaked in the Protection of the beauty that is cherished by the Darkness

    ^v^A Vampire's Cry of thirst.^v^

It's a night of ethereal pain, a song echoing of dark desire, nightworld creatures vent their loneliness. The Immortal one rises. Uninvited she will still come, unleashed she shall search to feed until she too finds love, her soulmate.
Curling icy wisps of death shroud her pale form, an everlasting wrath drives her on, violating the laws between the Mortal & Immortal world mean nothing to her any longer. Her raven hair cascades over pale & delicate shoulders and her crimson lips part slightly to taste the soul radiating from the mortal flesh that now lay beneath her.
Crying out, a night of new awareness, she thirsts ^v^

    ~ Echo's of Thy Heart~

As the moonlight covers the heavens, a labyrinth of bewitching magic begins to permeate the air. Immersed within twisted thoughts that keep me sane, demons and angels parade in harmony.
Like a convoluted web I wear the scars deep under my skin, a constant revelation of the lives I've lived. Entombed within an unforgiving shell I saunter the battlefield alone, jaded but never chastened, I venture forth. Resurrected by a far away abode where wonderful spirits roam, they're darkened wings and haunting melodies keep my soul elevated protected from the merciless iron gates below.
Flourishing, protected by the veil of Darkness the enemy shall be consumed. Ressurected to conquer, there shall be no compromise. The forgotten & dejected I intend to shelter, cloaked within the confines of thy Sanctuary, they're spirit safe within this place.
Devoted chants are bellowed to the sky above "protect the ones who are pained, uplift the ones you treasure & leave Serenity in the child within in each & every spirit you meet" Caelestis~Caelestis let this be our time to dream, forever mindfull of "Memento Mori"...
The murmur of voices echo within my soul, Halloween admirers & ghostly drifters a like because of you I am blessed~ you eminate my essence with light.
Legions of the night are not those of which to fear for they are sensually passionate creatures who simply beckon of the belief & faith of immortal love always.
When you look upon an evening star shall you feel the solitude within your heart, redemption is yours, tragic visions behold the secrect ruins of all sinister thieves who seek to destroy the life force of any child of the night.

    ~Blessed Be~
