I just read that Circuit City is going out of business. My heart goes out to the 30,000 people losing their jobs, especially if they are a member here. Also kind of sucks if you an extended warranty with them on a piece of tech equipment. If you do, I'm pretty sure you are SOL.

Yeah. They had just opened a new store in my area about this time last year and that was one of the stores to close in their initial round of closings. It was sad seeing a brand new store that still smelled new have the "going out of business" signs in the windows.

I read that the 3rd party extended service agreements will still be honored. I hope the folks they let go will land on their feet, and soon.
LHallow, the same thing happened to a Mervyn's store near me. They moved into a new building - nice floor plan, faster service, easy to find what you're looking for - and 6 months later they go belly up. Sad.

Things are gettin scary and its not halloween.

Yes, things ARE getting scarey. And this is only the tip of a very large iceberg, I'm afraid. Wait till the big mega-retailers start going under.
