First off, thank you to your husband.
I tried ignoring this, but just wanted to point something out. I am not agreeing or disagreeing, but thought I would bring up that Bush really didn't have military experience and he went after the wrong people right away. Not saying Saddam wasn't deserving of going after, but Iraq wasn't responsible for 9/11. Bush was finishing what his father didn't.
And lastly, we have turned this thread (myself included) into something it wasn't meant to be and in the process have disrespected MsMeeple. My apologies MsMeeple for that.
Thread: Congratulations America!

Bush was/is an idiot. I have regretted voting for him both times. I was TOTALLY on board with this war when it first started but now I could not agree with you more about the whole Iraq thing. Hussein was no angel but he didn't cause 9/11. I think Bush and his cronies lied about the whole "WMD's" so he could, as you said, finish what his daddy started. And now, 5,000 innocent (mostly) kids have lost their lives in a war I don't even understand, in a country that doesn't want us there.
But I still think Obama is bad ju-ju.
Thank you for the kind words to hubby. He and I don't agree about Iraq but we can find common ground when Obama comes up."Scare me once, shame on you. Scare me twice ... you'd better run like hell."

Well said SB, I agree that Bush is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. We need a good leader in these trying times, hopefully Obama will do great but I just can't trust a man I know nothing about. He will be put under a microscope over the next 4 years and we'll see. We have always needed a strong defense and I support any one who will lay their life on the line to defend this great nation of ours. Hopefully together we can make it the great nation it once was. My deepest respect to you and your husband for keeping us safe and for you who takes care of him. May he stay safe.

Wilbret, why the condescending tone? Can't you prove a point without being a jerk about it? And don't bother saying that you weren't being condescending because I'm not an idiot. I know what I read. I only sited what sites I found my info because I wasn't making it up. I don't agree with all of Obama's planned policies, I've clearly said that already. My post was only in response to your death and inheritance concerns. I don't recall you even mentioning business capital gains.
You're right, not all assets are necessarily liquid in an inheritance, but McCain's plan isn't much better at $5 million rather than the $3.5 million set for 2009 that Obama plans on freezing. And I'm admittedly not as knowledgeable about other capital gains tax or business taxes. I did some quick searches and from what I've read it seems you might be right about those. Honestly, I would agree with you and don't agree with raising those taxes drastically. My feelings are that personal income taxes of those earning much less should be cut first because they are the people who are hurting the most. And I don't agree with tax credits or rebates, but I do think income taxes of lower income people should be cut.
In any case, I think your talking down to me and others on this site really sucks. Why all the hate and anger? If you're some kind of superior being with all the right answers, excuse my ignorance.
