Thread: Gas "shortages" where you are?

Here in Atlanta the news has done their part to create a gas shortage.

The way it works:
Possible shortage to occur
News reports a shortage
People rush out to get gas
And thus, a shortage is actually created because people who didn't need gas today got gas today.

So, I get to go looking for gas tonight so my wife can drive to work. Fun!

How's the situation where you are?

No problems here in Arizona at all, in fact as of now, our prices keep dropping.

We have wacky low sulfur laws and cannot import gas into the state that doesn't meet the standard. Even moreso for Atlanta... gas is available 90 miles from here and 50 cents cheaper.

I just paid $4.19/gal.

im in valdosta,ga and we are paying $5!!!

We are at $3.15 - $3.25 That's crazy.

Im not gonna start another gas thread so im going to post a few thoughts here if thats ok. First thing next time i hear the news say ride your bicycle to work im gonna freak out! I dunno about the rest of you but i always have to drive 75mph on the highway for 1 hour to get to work. Theres no way i could do that on a bicycle are they nuts alot of us dont have the luxary of living 5 minutes from work. If they are not careful the globe is going to go on strike b/c a car or truck should not cost 75 bucks a week to drive. A lot only make 250week at that and thats nothing to live on. Now they have to pay 75 of that just to get to work? I see only one way to lower gas prices and thats to prove a point and thats going on strike. When the men and women of the world have had enough and stop driving and fixing your plumbing,power,deliveries,trash pick up, fire depatment, hospital etc....Can you imagine these places not working? The rich fat cats wont be able to function as a matter of fact noone would and i dunno about you but if i didnt have those things i would be very angry! Then maybe they will stop worrying about lining their pockets and worry more about keeping things right. One thing i think everyone on the planet can agree on right now and thats the gas prices....And im tired of all the excuses they dish out blah blah this or that. Its very simple lower the gas prices its not rocket science.

Right now gas here is $3.75.....It's been like a yo yo all summer, up and down. If it goes
down four cents it'll go back up eight cents! If I was ever to strike it rich I'd buy me a lot of
stock in the oil companies and get even richer!
