This forum might be the wrong place to ask this question, but I was just wondering if I'm the only one here that has difficulty getting into satanic and demonic themed things?

That depends on what you consider to be satanic and demonic themed things. Some people believe that associating with anything Halloween or related themed things such as movies, books, decorations, etc.... is inviting evil into your life. They believe these things can temp you to go to the dark side.

Yeah, it's just like the gore vs. 'cute' debate. It's all personal taste and choice.

define getting into?
do you mean getting things for halloween, or other occasions (party maybe)?
or is it a general mood and setting that your uncomfortable with. possibly a faith based discomfort.
i personally believe that you can immerse yourself in anything you want, especially those things that challenge your faith and understanding of the world around you, without having to change you views or general opinion.
things like that can expand your personal and cultural knowledge exponentially.
challenges to your faith can also serve to reinforce your beliefs by over coming those challenges and keeping your faith intact.
i don't find it difficult to put myself in a situation with demonic or satanic imagery or theme. but then again i am a religiously open individual preferring to observe and not convert. and i find most things of the demon/satan theme are a bit outlandish and over dramatized.
its all a personal choice of what your comfortable with.
hope that helped you...somewhere in the north-woods darkness, a creature walks upright.
And the best advice you may ever get is never to go out…at night.

This is a touchy one. When you do something that is considered outlandish you will be subject to criticism. I used a Beelzebub Room (Lord of the Flies) once, but the fly pupae that we got hatched early and by the time the TOT's started to show up they were hungry and we got a lot of bites, not a good thing. Our animatronic Witch had a Pentagram pendant for a couple of years, but I doubt anybody noticed it, at least, we got no comments on it. Satanic stuff doesn't sit well with a lot of people, I say avoid it.

I don't know that I buy the idea that you can be drawn over to the darkside. I think people who are drawn into things that even they would acknowledge is not good for them, have a level of proclivity for that activity before any temptation is even presented.
My personal issue with demonic things is that I see it as a real power and not an imaginary one. When I see movies with demons and such, I believe that real struggles like that go on in unseen realms. I believe what the Bible says about wrestling not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers in high places. If anyone has read books by Frank Peretti, they likely have been influenced. Peretti's stories layer the activities of evil forces over what we see as normal life events.
It is a personal preference at the end of the day I guess. I don't try and foist my hangups about it onto others, or even let on that it bothers me. I try to keep it to myself and recognize some of the creativity I see in their props and decorations without passing some kind of moral judgement. I've always liked Scifi or fantasy horror more than say demons or slashers because SciFi and fantasy carries the story far away from normal life.
