    From a former Marine...thank You for letting your son join the service...It's a tough decision to make, but the life changing experience will blow you away. I'm sending my prayers to you and your son so that he may have a long and safe career... even for a Swabbie... lol

    Hey, congratulations to your son.
    Those pics bring back memories of when I joined the Navy in '79. I got lucky and went to boot camp in Orlando. I think now Great Lakes (or Great Mistakes as they call it) is the only one now. We were able to have our graduation outside on the field, which I preferred.
    You should be proud of your new "squid".
