I am really starting to think that Favre is a real media *****. What is this guy thinking? I mean you retire and everyone treats you like you were the second coming of Christ and then you change your mind and want back in. The guy is 38 years old. How many years does he have left? He wants to go to another team???? Are you kidding? How is another team going to build their offense around a quarterback for 1 or 2 years? I would love to see the Jets get him. He would spend more time on his back then say....Paris Hilton?!?!? I predict that if he does play, then he won't even last a season.
Come on, Brett. You had the perfect opportunity to go out on top, you D-bag.
I am so sick of whiny athletes who (I'll give it to them, you have to work your butt off) but basically you are blessed with God-given ability. Just put yourself in perspective. Most of you athletes are .5 seconds off of a 40 yard dash difference between driving a Ferrari and washing one for a living.
Maybe his family could sign him to a 5 year deal.

While I agree that the whole situation is sickening, I have to add a couple of comments.
Being from Chicago, I have to say that this man has caused me much more pain then I care to discuss. With that said, I'd give Rex Grossman's left arm to have Brett be the QB for the Bears for just one season, or even two.
What could it hurt? They currently have NO quarterback, so a 1 or 2 year QB is better than nothing. And there are many other teams he could help including the most rumored Minnesota. They biggest hole they've got is at quarterback. If he went there, they'd have a star QB to go along with their stud RB. His arrival would lift that team into instant Superbowl contenders.
As for him coming back after announcing a retirement.... again. He claims that he was heavily pressured into retirement by the Packers and never really wanted to. Whether he was pressured or not, this situation is his fault. If they did put pressure on him to retire, he should've just demanded a trade right then. This man hasn't only done incredible things for that franchise, but he's single-handedly lifted the entire franchise from the crap-heep and returned it to glory. The least they can do for the man is trade him to another team so that he can win another Superbowl.
Unfortunately "retired" at the top of the game just like Michael Jordan during his first retirement. I'm sure that Brett will ruin his legacy by coming back after all this media attention and will likely have a very average or subpar year with another team this year that doesn't really have a shot. It'll be a sad ending to a glorious career. Although I'd be happy to see him finally leave because of the pain he's caused us, I have great respect for the man and would love to see him pick up with a team in the AFC (if not with the Bears) and have some success.Last edited by Haunted Host; 08-04-2008 at 07:56 PM.
