....and I'm freaking out a little. Can I really do this? It happened so quickly. This lady had to give away her 2 cats because she travels way too much now. She just brought them in when I was there and they're so cute and great, let me hold them and didn't fuss. They're both standing at the window looking out the balcony now. I know it's going to be easier than having a dog, but I think I'm freaking out a little that I'm responsible for 2 lives now.
The black one is Panther and the other is Lola.
Any encouragement from cat owners?

Awwww...what pretty babies.

Here's my advice:
1) If they are not fixed yet, have it done as soon as possible.
2) Litter box maintenance every day.
3) Invest in a good vaccum!
Other than that you should be good to go. Cats are fairly self sufficient - feed them, water them, and clean the litter box(es). Brush them every once in a while to keep down the shedding. Mine never go outside so they never need a bath. They keep themselves immaculately clean!
They're so entertaining, especially when you've got more than one. Have fun with the new family additions!

oooooooooooooooooooooooooh they are SO pretty!! And Halloweeny! I'm so jealous. We lost our kitty last year and we moved to a petless complex but there's two stray kitties here I can love. I can feed them, and pet them just a bit, they're a little feral, but it's still not quite the same.
Follow Rikki's advice and I would also suggest a vaccination just in case they manage to slip outside. Our little deveil tried to sneak out once in awhile.
And I suggest reading Cats for Dummies. Very educational and entertaining. I learned a great deal from it.
Congratulations on the new additions to your family!

I hate to say it but I think I'm going to bring them back. I feel like the place pressured me and I was in the moment which is not fair to these cats. I'm a total dog person, I can't do this to these cats.
