Man, I had a great day. I had my 2 boys to myself today, and decided to take them to the park to go for a bikeride around the carillon and fishing pond. Never done that before, so they were really excited.

Loaded up the bikes in the truck and headed off to the park. Park was closed. Who closes a park on Sundays? But it was just closed to cars. Bikes were still allowed. Headed off for our nice bike ride and as soon as we get across the street and down our first hill, my littlest son Alex, got a flat tire from a freakin broken beer bottle at the park! We had to walk the bike back to the truck, without the ride, but ended up walking back to the park and played for a couple hours.

After I got home, I was cooking dinner and my oldest, Ben was working in the front yard....he said decorating. Here's what he came up with:

He wanted to decorate for the 4th of July and we'll be gone on vacation over the holiday, so this is great. He did the whole yard....flags included

it's days like this that I am so proud to be a dad, and I wish I could have a couple more. Sorry, I just had to brag.

I hope everyone else had a great day!

First, Happy Father's Day to you! And I just have to tell you that I deeply respect the fact that you proudly served your country! Your son is obviously proud of you! I don't think that gifts get much better than the one you got today.

Nothing sexier than a dad bragging about his children
Linus: You've heard about fury and a woman scorned?
Charlie Brown: Yes, I guess I have.
Linus: Well that is nothing compared to the fury of a woman who has been cheated out of tricks or treats!

Aw, man! I'M proud of your guys, without ever having met them, what great kids you have...I suspect they are very much a reflection of the values, love, and respect that they have learned from their dad....I'm so happy you guys all had a wonderful day together!!

    OOORAH!!

Add my grateful thanks for your service, as well. What a great thing for your son to do. He's quite a guy.

I have lots of former Marines in my family: hubby, brother-in-law (who now is active duty Army), brother and uncle. We love Marines at this house!
