Recent Victorian Mourning photos were just posted on my web site.
Many very interesting things, especially the Child's Hearse.
I tried to post the link here but it is not working. It used to,
am I missing something new?
To see photos click on SLIFER HOUSE MOURNING on my web site.

Hi,
When you get to the site click on Slifer House Mourning,
it is in the yellow box in the top menu selections.
Slifer House Mourning is in the second row up from the bottom.
Once on the page scroll down for the Hearse photos.
I hope this helps!

Beautiful pages. I used to run a community on LJ called DarkVictoria, these would have been perfect for posting there. If you are on LJ I hope you will think about posting to that community, people will LOVE it.

I love that site, Lisa. I am currently schmoozing my wife to let me build a hearse very similar to that one. With the right lighting, those things are really cool and creepy.

Thank you for the Dark Victoria forum info.
I love it and will be posting soon!!!
Rookie,
I hope you have convinced your wife about the hearse.
I for one want to see photos of the finished project.

VL, thanks for a look at the Victorian Mourning site. I was very interested in the black curtain over the mirror. There's a 1922 Studebaker Children's Hearse on ebaymotors.com right now. An interesting comment about that hearse is that the children's hearses were painted white because: a child was thought to represent purity and innocence.
So many of the old graveyards that I have visited out West here are filled with children that died back in the 1800's and early 1900's because of the plagues and the distance to any kind of doctor.
