Hey Guys!
Just wanted to give you all a quick update on my progress. I was in NYC yesterday to get a port put in for chemo, as well as for treatment and the results of my CT scans. So everything went really well. The port, which I have been dreading for some reason, went off without a hitch. I was given some very good drugs, which I will now try to find street versions of (j/k!) so there was no pain at all. The results of my scans were very good. the nodules in my lungs have gotten smaller, brain scan was 100% clear, uterus has remained stable. All in all, my Dr. is very happy with my progress. My first chemo treatment through the port was fantastic, no more multiple needle sticks in my arms to find a good vein. The plan is to keep going as i have been, treatments once a month, scans every 3 months....hopefully surgery eventually. I'm feeling a bit like i have been used as a punching bag today, but I was assured the soreness won't last long. Other than that, I am feeling awesome...it's hard to believe that I am "sick"...because I feel so healthy (not complaining..it's just odd to feel so good and have people tell you you are sick). Thank you all for the support you have been giving me...all the emails and messages are truly appreciated! Thank You

Great news Nyhaunter ! I have wondered how you were doing. Chemo these days is so much improved from years past.

nyhaunter I'll be thinking of you. I looked back and saw your story, so sorry I missed it at the time. I have a good friend who's mom just went into remission from Leukemia and is now waiting for a match for a bone marrow transplant which I hope to get tested for soon. She had a port as well for the chemo, it seemed much better than always being poked to get the chemo each time. She went through 2 1 weeks worth of chemo and came out great. She also had many things against her, she's a transplant patient as it is having received a kidney a few years back. The kidney held up great.
Keep us updated like you have been. Your positive attitude is great and is so good for you. Will be thinking of you.
Is there anything we can do?
