    Toilets would flush anything?
    Dishwashers really dried the dishes?
    Toy guns looked real?
Cell phones were what prisoners used to call their lawyers?

Oh how those are missed, with three guys in our house--hehehehe....I always knew y'all were full of it, but dang!

Yep, I remember those days....the days when cartoons were normal, and when the snow cone man's products could be trusted...the days before caller i.d. when it was a lot easier to call your folks from anywhere pretending to be where you were supposed to be....

...when there were cartoons on Saturday morning?
...you waited for the farm report to end to catch the first toon.
...your milk changed colors with the cereal and that was the best part....
...you knew your day was DONE when Looney Toons went off....

That's a great one Laurie. Good thing I was born back in the day of rotary dial phones and alpha pre-fix phone numbers. LOL!

Up until literally just a couple years ago, in my hometown (where my parents still live), you could call locally using only 4 digits. It was as close to Mayberry as you could get.

Being 60 I am old enough to remember
Party lines on the phone system.
    Ringer washers
    Outhouses in the winter
Coal stove for heating a house
Hanging clothes on a clothes line to dry.
Sitting outside under a tree in the evening with neighbors talking cause it was too hot to be inside.
I could go on forever, God I miss some of those days.

You didn't have to tell your kids, "Never talk to strangers?"

    EXACTLY, Wilbret...exactly....

'Sitting outside under a tree in the evening with neighbors talking cause it was too hot to be inside.'---strange1, I hear ya!! There was a neighbor of mine, Grady...an old man I'll never forget, sat in his swing with him all the time..he had a heart of gold and we had the best conversations during the humid Georgia evenin's..

Wolfman, my sons won't even open the door to me sometimes, because I've had to drill in them so much, the 'not talking to strangers'...sad, but necessary....

You guys are making me so nostalgic here...feel like I need to go sit on the deck, look at the stars while petting my dog, and remember it all....

    Wrong! My day started then!

Remember when phone numbers started in letters and you used words when giving your number? Such as JA7 which was Jackson 7 then the number and oh yes you only picked up the phone if it rang twice fast because that was your cue the call was for you because you were on a party line!

    Ban Trunk or Treat!
