What the hell is this world coming to? There was a double homicide on the next street over. I think its time to GTFOH. They think it may have been a home invasion. PEOPLE GET A JOB! Make something useful out of your life. Those people didn't deserve being killed over something stupid. I can't believe that they think they can get away with murder. This is way too close to home! This city is going to $#!+ fast. Hell we can't move! WTF! Sorry I had to vent. What do we do?

That is some really HORRIFIC news, BLAKKHEART, good God!! It very much sucks that you're being made to feel like your safety is jeopardized probably because of some strung out junkies looking for a quick buck....damn! What a violent and terrible way for those people to die, people have no respect for life anymore. I wish Atlanta wasn't so close to us, it's become exactly the same way--SCARY. I'm sure y'all already have some good deadbolts, do you have a mean lookin' watchdog too? And flood lights? A neighborhood watch system? Y'all take care over there, man!

Yes we have a neighborhood watch....Sign! As a matter of fact my radio was stolen out of my car right next to the neighborhood watch sign. We have watch cats but I don't think they will help. We do have a security light outside and deadbolts. I think its time to dust off my arsenal.

Watch cats, hehehehe....yeah, we have 2 of those as well, I know how lazily ineffective THEY'D be in a crisis. Hey, maybe you should sit outside in the front yard while you're dusting your arsenal off. :-)

It was the house, not directly behind ours but the next over. The police came by to talk to us. To ask if we heard anything. When I was leaving for work this morning I heard the police coming down the road. But never would have imagined that it was soooooooo close. Our back yards are separated by 10 feet of alley. We are now going thru all of our window locks and double locking the doors.

Wow, Blakkheart, that is scarey! If they were robbing them, why kill them ,just take the s**t and go. Lately in our area, it seems so much of the violence is gang related in some way. Could it be related to that? Defiantely, double check your windows and locks, maybe a alarm. We have cheap -o ones, that emit a high pitch annnoying sound when the door is opened, it isn't attached to a security system at all, just hopefully will scare any one coming in the house, and alert us to someone opening the door. Take care and be careful!
I have flying monkeys- and I'm not afraid to use them!

Sorry to hear it, Blakk. Maybe it is time to go.
I moved us from our old neighborhood because it was changing for the worse... the wife called me paranoid and racist. I just knew something was up and got tired of it.
Literally the day before the closing, the house across the street was busted. Only the largest drug bust in Georgia history. (at the time, there may have been bigger ones since)
*****************
The Drug Enforcement Administration, Metro Narcotics Task Force and Muscogee County Sheriff's Office were recognized earlier this month by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces of the southeast region for their work on the largest drug bust in Columbus' history.
On May 4, 2005, drug agents seized more than $37 million worth of drugs and more than $600,000 in cash as part of a roughly two-year investigation dubbed "Operation Beallwood... "

You never know when or where these crazies are going to hit. A good security alarm system is a great investment these days. We have one of the best....a barking dog that hears everything! I got him when my husband worked the graveyard shift and I don't care if he barks at every unusual noise in the middle of the night. You would think he's Cujo behind the door....but he's really just a little Jack Russell Terrier. It amazes me how dogs can change the sound of their bark when they feel something is a threat.
