laurie! that storm last night! ok, i have never seen it rain that hard. ever. the wind, oh my god! it had to have been at about 80 miles per hour. we had a couple of tornadoes, in my town, there is lots of wind damage and power out. i was lucky though. the rain was pounding from all sides. i swear the wind was blowing in a circle around my house. the power flickered all night.
that's amazing that you had the storm too. i am in central KY. that storm must have been HUGE!

Oh my God, Kallie, that sounds really scary!! We were actually pretty lucky, no tornadoes in our county, just some very strong thunderstorms at times and the wind was pretty bad too....we were still in a tornado watch this morning, but it may have expired by now, not sure. There were 24 casualties in Tennessee I believe, that's terrible!! Mighty glad you guys are okay, you too, perdidoman!

Yeah, we Georgians got out pretty light on the whole ordeal I believe, but still I'm glad nothing happened in your areas to cause alarm, wilbret and Black Rose!--

I hear this might be a bad year for Tornados.
My area is not known for tornados actually touching down except east of here in the plains, but we never know....glad to see those that answered are O.K."I never drink....wine. Well maybe just this once!"

If you guys are really worried about tornados, I'll tell you to go to Radio Shack and get a NOAA radio. I got one after there were 30 tornado watches and warnings one night when I lived in Ohio and I read a book about tornados and read how they struck in the middle of the night and people were killed because they were unaware. There was a couple literally ripped from their bed at 1 AM and they didn't make it. A NOAA can work like an alarm clock, you set it, if there's foul weather coming to or in your area, it goes off and wakes you up. At the time I had it was set for one county over so we had plenty of time to get up and go sit in the basement. I think they cost $25 - $50, not terribly expensive for a device that could be life saving.
