Well thank you for the kinds words there, my friend!I couldn't help but come up with a few ideas for illustrations after I read his poem, but certainly I am not the only qualified artist here that could help him out with such a project.
Perhaps I could still just do a couple for fun and post them later.
Hooch, meditation and yoga, YES!, David and I want to start practicing that regularly as well.....I can't believe working the ER is less stressful (??) for you, but certainly I know that you must be needed there!! A woman like you would keep the procedures operating as smoothly as possible and what a calming effect you must have on those patients!

Plans? *ponder*
I never really PLAN that far ahead... I just have a general list of things that I'd like to happen eventually... though, I like to keep the time frame flexible to reduce stress.
First things first... I'd like to unpack and get set up in the house I'm now renting. It's soooooo nice to get out of apartments (flats). I just hope we don't get more stuff... we filled the new place up pretty good with what we had. Hehehe... and this surely puts a new spin on Halloween. Will I have my own ToTers to take care of this year? =D
Aside from that, I have no idea what to plan for this year... so I'll keep with the longer-term plans as a guide... that being to work, work, work and pay off the student loans, cars, and start saving so I can BUY a house of my own.
I am planning on being less masochistic by spending less time at the In-Law's this year... spending time with the "Hellions" (Hubby's brother's kids) at Sunday dinner at the In-Law's has been making me go INSANE... we're talking major psychological damage here. Hehe.
Of course, there are other things here and there that are always looming overhead... but I like to pull those off the shelves as I find time for it.
So glad the "R" word wasn't used. I feel it's a silly tradition. As an alternative, I have goals... some tangible, some not.

MHooch it sounds like you and I need to hang out together. We have very similar goals. I have been working with a therapist for the past four years to focus on controlling the pain I have from pressure on the brain stem caused by a Chiari Malformation (being a nurse you probably know what that is). I also have some degenerated disks in my neck that are pinching the spinal cord. I injured my neck at some point or it is caused by years of playing the violin and viola for hours every day. The neurologists say surgery is too high risk because of the location. I won't take narcotic medications and it has taken a long time to be able to refocus my thoughts to get some relief for few minutes at a time. My therapist helps keep me on track with accepting my physical boundaries (I always think I can do everything myself) and helps keep depression at bay. It is kind of scary because she is retiring at the end of the month...now I am going to go solo
I hope you are as lucky at finding a good match with a therapist as I was. It's made a huge difference in my life.
Kalie and Laurie...what beautiful children. Just plan to have Kleenex handy on their first day of school and you will be fine.

Well, after the year that 2007 has been my plans for 2008 are to have it be anything BUT 2007!
The best parts of 2007 were meeting everyone on the other site then bringing you all here to enjoy more friends and more ideas!
That job with Safeway was actually really great too, while it lasted.
I don't really have any 'goals' persay for the coming year other than to try and focus on getting things more under control. I'd really like to be making money at something that I REALLY enjoy doing. Right before Christmas, I applied for a computer graphics position. I have yet to hear anything but it's at least given me a boost in the direction I think I should be going.

OEJ I agree with you that anything could be better than 2007. I'm looking for some new energy for sure. Wishing you the best of luck.

Lordy, I second that. I don't have many plans but I guess OEJ's plans are my plans. I want to give him a little more love this year, I want to lose weight and get in shape, I want to keep the house tidier and especially to put things away when I get done with them. I need to eat my yogurt EVERY day, that will go a long way to my feeling better. Also I need to take vitamins every day and eat salads several times a week, and drink more water. A job would be nice so I'm not sitting here being worthless.
