So...here we are.....coming up on the big day.
Getting all freaked about what still needs to be done.....

It is only 24 degrees outside right now...first HARD freeze of many more to come.
Ski conditions...only two resorts are open, but not all the trails , Arapahoe Basin, Loveland, with a 20" base 8" new as of Yesterday.

Everyone have a good week and enjoy the warm days while they are here!

Good Morning!

It was another busy weekend, got a lot done though. This week might not be so hectic after all.

I dressed up a bluckette for the pole. John & his friend decided she needs spinning tassels. John got the motor in last night. Just need to modify the tassles so they don't get shredded. I'm still not so sure these 2 props should hang around.

Moon - It's definately crunch time. This week is going to fly by.

Morning all. This my last week to work before my small vacation. Worked a bit on the house last night, worked alot on my car yesterday , and on thru the night . Damn those headers! This is the last starter I put on my car I swear. If this one takes a dump I'm going to a hand crank. But anyway, not alot of money to spend on my car or Halloween. Thats the way its been the last couple of years for all of us I guess. Gonna have to make due with what I got witch is still alot. But always room for more. Its finally cold here. Cold front moved in last night, the first real cold front. Its beginning to look alot like Halloween.

I was a dirty old man last night.. Them damn headers! Then I took a shower and watched Monsters inc. Then I was a clean old man.

SoCal's burning...wind's are blowing real nice (seems to be averaging about 30-40mph where I live - but in some of the canyons and hills where many of these fires are burning, the winds are blowing strong...like 75mph+ strong)
This is when we get our firestorms - the amount of air these brushfires inhale can actually create mini-weather conditions within them, causing the winds blowing around them to actually change direction...which can help the fire spread even quicker in some cases (like burning DOWN a hill, instead of up like it normally would)

I woke up this morning and looked out the window and thought it was overcast - but it turns out the entire sky was filled with a light covering of smoke...

Moon - a teacher's workday? Does that mean you have the kids? ...and...color me confused, but if the teachers have to send the kids home so they can "work"...what do they do when the kids are there?
(I'm teasing - our teachers do the same damn thing - call it a planning day - and it's just another *&^%'ing excuse for them to avoid doing their job, in my opinion)

Jack - skiing? Aww...man that must be nice...do you ski?

Jackie - I have missed all of the "bluckette" convo...is that a brass pole for the bluckette you mentioned?

BH - tell us how you really feel about those headers...(sounds like a lot of work!!)

Not to mention that every time I go over speed bumps I scrape my headers they lead to even more starter problems because they put off alot of heat. They are a majar pain in the @$$, the bolts back off and they begin to leak and make all kinds of noise. They alwasy get in the way of everything. But they sound good and increase horsepower so I put up with them............... Hey you asked! LOL

Joe - how far away are your from the fires? A friend emailed me pictures this morning of the outside of his office building. Very scary stuff.

Well, I got to go to the pumpkin patch this weekend. Had to have someone help us to the car with our purchases as neither the pregnant one nor the one with the broken back could lift them........... but I ended up with 5 pumpkins. I'm very excited!

Oh, and it's finally raining here in GA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joe - I caught a few news clips this morning featuring the fires in CA. Scary stuff. So sad to see peoples homes going up in flames. Will your area be ok? I know things can change on a dime, also I'm not familiar with whats where other than the main cities. Best wishes to you & your state!

I've only made a couple comments about this pole thing. I'm sure everyone is a bit confused. The DH & I have an adult costume party every year & we try to add at least one thing to surprise guests. 2 years ago it was a stage with props so they could be "rock stars". A couple weeks ago when we were out with friends (drinks were involved) someone came up with the idea of a stripper pole. I agreed. Hey, it sounded pretty funny when I was half crocked! Now I'm not so sure....I hope nobody goes overboard! But, it's too late, pole is painted & ready to be installed. I'm putting a blucky on the pole, maybe that will limit some of its use? I think it will be a pretty funny prop, I just hope it doesn't see too much action.
