Beautiful day here in FLA--was mucho lazy as well

Yeah...today made a good day to make some Popcorn and watch a movie with my girls cuddled under a blanket.....do not have too many of these days left...they are grownig fast.

Happy October 14th to all...we are closing in so quick on Halloween...where is all the time going?

If I'm lucky, I'll find my way back into my mind before dawn tomorrow morning for the work week, as right now, I am quite positively out of it...

Yesterday was good - busy, but good.

Up at 5am to start getting things ready for the garage sale for my girls, and sure enough, it's raining...

...in Southern California...

...not in the dead of winter...

So, naturally I assumed it was the end of the world, and set about putting things together anyway...as well as I could.

We actually had some luck, as it lightened to barely a drizzle for much of the morning...until 10:30am or so - that's when it began to rain in earnest (well...earnest for SoCal)...
We managed to sell a good amount of stuff in the few hours we had...

...and of course, practially zero of the other parents for our schools colorguard team (which we were doing the garage sale for in the first place) were able to show...I had help from 2.
yay

So, the rain began, I had to pack stuff up...thankfully, someone provided a big truck to haul the remaining items away - we're going to sell them at an auction house and see what the colorguard gets.

So, 2 hours in the rain, packing up the remains of a garage sale...at which point I get to go inside, put on some dry clothes, and then drive my girls 70 miles to their competition...
Spent the day watching marching competitions...entertaining, in an acedemic kind of way.

Drove home...spending 3 hours in SoCal traffic.
yay

Get home, girls freaking out now due to the time lost on freeways - they both had to get ready for their homecoming dance...

Another hour of running screaming yelling crying accusing laughing throwing swearing giving up and me hiding...none too sucessfully...

Girls off to the dance...

I watch a movie with wife.

11pm...cross town to get daughters from dance. Get them...and dates...get ice cream for all of them...drop dates off (no - I did not have to kill any boys last night...not that it didn't cross my mind)...

Get home - everyone falls asleep...

So today was errand day for me...supplies for the household...just finished a while ago...




I am so glad this weekend is over.

Surprised it has not snowed here...feels cold enough.

Got one turtle that does not want to hibernate for some reason...the other 2 have buried themselves a week ago. Might have to keep this one in all winter!

Pumpkins are all harvested.....halloween is nigh......time for winter!

Brrr Jack, your post is making me freeze. Hey all, hope all plans and preps for The Day are going well. Gonna try and finish the yard tomorrow, and get the rest of our Spooky Town up. Wishing everyone much energy, talent and speed for the next few weeks.

Temps only go down from here!
