aww, I've been wanting to start geocacheing for some time now. What's holding me back is which device to purchase! Aargh, it's all so complicated, the features and sensitivities, whether you can use it for hunting and fishing also, or for use in the car with all the maps and stuff. Then I saw the price tags of the models I could live with (go big or stay home, I always say) and I havn't bought a thing. I guess I'm staying home. *sniff*

Sisvicki, I bought a Geko 201 from Garmin for a little over $100 on line a couple of years ago. It is all we need. It is easy to work and stores plenty of info. My friend has the same kind and he uses it with his palm pilot and it works great. That is part of the fun with caching, don't need to spend big bucks to have fun.

I'm glad there are a few others here that go out Caching!!
Well I guess the next thing is equipment bragging and our handles there. I've got a Garmin GPS V, and we go by "Double Agents" over on that site.End Male Genital Mutilation. Don't circumcise.

I'm seriously considering starting, frizzen! It looks like lots of fun...I think I've almost got the boyfriend convinced that we "need" a GPS unit! I told him it would come in handy when he goes fishing in unexplored territory and needs help finding his way back home!
If you find yourself alone, riding through green fields with the sun on your face, do not be troubled, for you are in Elysium, and you are already dead.

Wow! For some reason, I didn't expect to see a thread about caching here.
This makes me want to use something with a Halloween theme as our signature item.

We've been caching since '04 under the name, Shop99er. It's one of those things where either you do it every now and again or you do it all the time. We do it all the time!
GeoCaching also includes caching events which are, honestly, just big parties. We will be hosting the 4th annual GeoBoo in Tacoma, WA this year if anyone is in the area and would like to attend they are welcome to.
Our events are never sit down, meet and greets. There is always too much food, lots of games for the kids and adults.
Our motto is, if it's worth doing, it's worth over doing.
