Qouteid you see last night's episode of "Ghost Hunters" putrid? The one at the Bedford, Mass Armory where something knocked their sound man flat on his butt. Even the skeptic plumbers liked that one :end qoute
my friend was telling me about that episode. i didnt think that could happen...[8)]
That's what they said, but one of the plumbers (I can never think of their names) said he has been slapped hard on the face at a Ghost Hunt before. They kept picking up heat readings on one of their sensing gizmos which they said is also unusual. Most spirit readings show as cold spots not hot spots.
This is probably not in the subject. Its a question really. During Halloween many of my digital pictures as well as many that people took. I had a circle on me. My niece says it's an orb, which she explained is like a spirit. I have never heard this before. Anyone know if this is true or just a made up story? Thanks CC
After I read up on spirit photography a little (bout a year ago) I went through the family picture albums and couldn't believe some of the things that I saw! Now, I want to take my own pictures and see what happens.
Mindcrime-I've heard that you are supposed to ask for the spirits permission before you take a picture, just wondering, do you do that?
It's only funny until someone gets hurt....THEN IT'S HILARIOUS!!!
Ccscastle. In almost all cases there is a reflection form something that will cause this effect. You have to remember that the flash used is extremely bright. Any small reflective surface could have caused this. The dead give away is it's a perfect circle.
If your want pictures of orbs throw a hand full of dust in the air and use a flash. For a really cool ghost effect use a perfume atomizer and a bit of water with the flash. To many of these so called 'ghost photos' are deliberate fakes or honest mistakes. I'm thinking this will work as well. For a distorted area try using a butane torch and a 1/2 in. metal pipe. Set the torch up under the pipe so the heat will travel up close to the camera and into a corner of the shot you what to take. The heat radiation should give you a cool effect. I don't mean to be a wet blanket on everybody’s fun. I just what to let you know the difference between speculation and what’s real. If you have a digital camera I would like you to try this experiment.
what you need
a towel for dusting
a helper
something dusty to clean.
a dark area to take a picture. Preferably at night with no other light source but the flash.
The set up.
Use the dry towel to clean your dusty object.
go out side or in a dark basement and pick a good dark area.
Take a reference shot of the dark area.
now have your helper snap the dusty towel, wait a second or two and take a second picture.
It will work best on a fairly calm night. or if need be in a basement with a dark background and no other light source.
If you wait a moment or two you can take a third picture of the same area. The amount of 'orbs' will of decreased enough to make it look more real.
Even if it is a ‘wet blanket’, knowledge is power.
Ahhhh....can you hear them? The children of the night. And I’m there daddy!
TheHalloweenQn: I've heard of the theory of politeness, based on the idea that ghosts are fiercely territorial and don't like their personal space intruded upon. I wouldn't subscribe to asking permission, though I would certainly announce my presence.
Putrid: As I've previously stated, I don't consider orbs as proof of anything. And while there are dozens of ways to fake a picture, I'm not interested in that. Fake pictures are as old as photography itself...
One of the rules I intend to go by is flash-less photography. Flashes can produce so much 'fake' imagery, I prefer to use an auxilliary light source. I low-output lamp (around 25 watts) will produce just enough light to safely find your way and produce photos, but it is unlikely to generate false images and abstract reflections.

Mindcrime, sorry, I should have explained myself better. My 'how to fake photos' wasn't aimed at you. It's just my way of letting people know what there looking at and how easy it is to fake 'ghost photos'. Must be one heck of a camera Mindcrime. With anything my wife and I own we could take a picture of the 25 watt bulb, but that's about it. LOL

No prob., Putrid,
but it is important to research what fake photos look like. My computer backgound includes a lot of graphic programs, like photoshop, so I know most of the tricks used.
It's all about the film, the higher the film speed, the less light you need. of course, anything higher than 1200 speed in my opinion comes out too grainy for positive examination.
