I'm really growing tired of these tornado/thunderstorm warnings. It seems like everyday here in Mich! The mosquitos will be a real treat this summer, I'm sure. The weather people make it sound so tragic on T.V., but it's a few thunderstorms here and there. I already can't wait for fall.

Been raining here everyday for the past four in Chi town. Came home thurday night with a new printer/scanner/copier. Glad I hopped a cab. Not two minutes after I climbed in all hell broke loose and you couldn't see three feet in front of you. Gave the guy a tip for safe driving. Doesn't happen to often with cabbies in Chicago.
"Even while I breathed there came to my nostrils the breath of the vapor of heated iron. A suffocating odor pervaded the prison. A deeper glow settled each moment in the eyes that glared at my agonies. A richer tint of crimson diffused itself over the pictured horrors of blood. There could be no doubt of the design of my tormentors. Oh, most unrelenting! Oh, most demoniac of men! 'Death,' I said, 'any death but that of the pit.'"

I want storms.. I live in Tornado Alley.. we're supposed to get all kinds of storms and yet I've lived here 21 years and never once seen a tornado.
It's been nothing but hot Hot HOT here the past week.
Maybe you can send some of that rain down to Texas?

Yeah we have been steaming in Florida as we are in the in-between period of the summer heat but no regular daily gully washers! I really love those afternoon violent storms, only a couple of weeks and they should start firing up everyday!
David will be in for a surprise when they start barreling down on Mt Dora daily. They are over in 45 minutes to an hour, but they certainly cool off the day and get the mosquitoes flying! After they start their regular pattern of coming every afternoon you just sort of get used to it and know when you need to take cover.
On the West Coast near the beach the normal time is anywhere from 5 PM - 8 PM, after that they are usually pretty weak. Sometimes we get them later but usually after the sun sets they are done for the day. July 4th last year we got them around 6 so by the fireworks time they were all over! Can't wait until they start firing up again!

Gee, Rotting, that sounds just dandy. I already drove through one severe thunderstorm that lingered from Baton Rouge through New Orleans. That was sure fun. I love it when lightning bolts hit trees on the the side of the road a couple of dozen yards away from me. It's kind of like having someone set off a hundred flashbulbs in your face all at once making it really easy to see. Course, with the rain coming down so hard that it practically stops the windshield wipers, you can't see anything in the first place, so it doesn't matter. And this is a daily afternoon thing, huh? Swell. Sure am glad I thought to pack the industrial rain coat.

yup Rotting everyday between 1-3 being inland they build faster from the heat of the day because we get wicked hot, very fast in the summer.
