He is in the Hospital until Saturday the ealiest. Just thouhght i would give you an update. I have been calling him everyday and seeing whats up i told him that you all said hi well i have to go do ANOTHER play. Ill cya later bye!
He is on his way home as I type. He was moved from JFK to Robert Wood Johnson and they said he can go home. He was waiting to get the ok and final paperwork from them but he is comming home today. Ill have him post here when he is done.
So I've had this cold/cough for months that just didn't want to go away. So last weekend it was starting to get worse and I was getting short of breath. So I took Monday off and took a trip to the doctors where they said I had asthma and bronchitis. Later that night they looked at the X rays again and noticed one lung was a couple inches too short. So they gave us a pleasent little call saying I should go to the hospital...
8 nights later I'm now finally home! This is after spending a week on oxygen and having far too many Xrays and blood samples taken.
I'm lucky though, they didn't have to stick a tube into my chest to re-inflate my lung, it did it by itself with the oxygen.
They also thought I had pneumonia too, or something of the sort but couldn't tell what it was or how I got it.
I got lucky again - yesterday they moved me to another hospital where they were planning on gassing me up and carving me like a pumpkin. Well, ok, more of just putting me out and prodding me with a needle to get a sample of my lungs to figure out what it was. But it turns out that I got better too fast and whatever the infection was is now to small for them to bother taking a sample, so I avoided the knife again.
Though my arms have been turned into little dartboards from all the blood tests and IVs...
I'm not back to normal yet, but I'm not out of breath any more and the coughing has stopped.
It's good to be home though! The one thing I have to say though, is WOW! HOSPITAL FOOD IS GOOD! Nice people there too... like that ambulance crew that transported me to the second hospital - they bought me a hotdog for the ride over.
Well now that little vacation is over, time to go back to school tommarow and make up a heaping pile of work.
I'm working on posting a scan of one of the Xrays... It's not the best of quality but you can make out the collapsed part of the lung and the air pocket it created above it. It should be up in a few. It's not the best of quality though.
