saw the trailer at the theatre Susiecat the other day when we went to see Scooby....

Between this one, the remake of the "Thunderbirds" and but of Course, "Prisoner of Azkaban" looks like my oldest and I will be spending ALOT of time in the theatre coming up

I am hoping VAn Helsing is as good as it looks.... I told Andrea (my oldest) she needs to sit and read Braham Stoker first...she is a vamp fanatic and needs the background

Van Helsing is one of a few Deb and I plan on seeing this summer. My Deb is a BIG vamp fan.

Someone first told me about this movie and said: "They're making a Hellsing movie" I got really really really excited because Hellsing (for those of you who dont watch anime) is my favorite anime series of all time. I was under the impression that this was going to be the story of Alucard. I saw a brief few seconds of the preview and was thoroughly disappointed. I was like "Alucard should look worse than that! And where's Integra? What happened to Celes??" Then someone explained to me that it was Helsing, the story of Abraham Van Helsing. My hopes had been extremely high from the beginning. But since I've watched the previews (and known it was 'Van' Helsing) I'm still really excited about the movie. The monsters all look great.. and even though some of the dialogue seems cheesy, I still expect this movie to rock my frickin socks off.

I've seen the trailers a few times and it does look really good. At some of the theaters they show a pre-trailers feature called The Twenty that gives a little more behind the scenes info about the making of it. According to the director they tried to "stay true" to the images of the traditional Universal monsters. I hope so. Those old Universal monsters like Wolfman were really great.

All reviews so far call it a steaming pile of garbage.

I've read enough bad reports to stay away from this one at the theater. The nicest review I read said it was like a big budget Troma movie. Might see it at the drive-in if they show it with a couple better movies though.

Well since I saw Hellboy twice more than likely I'll see this one at least that many.I read and interview with Hugh Jackman and he said that the sets were really elaborate and done well.Still I wonder about about how true to BOTH the storyline and our Universal moldy oldy monsters are going to be.

Well I think the story is that Dracula need to run electricity through Frankentein's monster's body to resurrect his dead babies that keep popping out of his brides. He uses werewolves as his guards even though they are the only things that can kill him. Oh and the Mr. Hyde from League of Extraordinarily Bad Movies is in there somewhere too. I'll be avoiding this one.
