Besides Halloween, what other interests do you have? hobbies, activities, etc..
I've been active with the Scouting movement for the past 11 years. I maintain saltwater aquariums and used to moderate one of the SW boards. Also play a pretty mean bagpipe and used to play competitively with a band in Cleveland. We maintain a couple of horses and I study Native American Culture. The finer points of golf escape me but I make an occassional appearance on the local links. How about you all?

i guess everyone is a little frightened to answer this, HUH?
I have an herb garden that I love. I LOVE & live for short track Auto racing....superspeedways, *BLECH*. My kids are my passion their upbringing is of the most importance. As far as any of the "yuppie stuff" w/ the Volvo driving Soccer mom's, nope, don't do it. I can't stand the "Plastic people"--those who put on the front of something they are really not. OR a place where the parents are more competitive then th kids.
I am by all means an Eclectic Pagan. I follow no one path, I follow no rules except, "Harm ye None". I firmly believe in the Law of 3, and what ever you put forth on this earth comes back to you. MY children are taught to treat everyone as they want to be treated.
I too have animals...a crochety 19yr old cat. 2 Ferrets and we seem to attract strays around here. I'll give you the shirt off my back UNTIL you screw me over.
My backyard is my sanctuary, quiet place, downtime with all it's tropical foilage, the grill & the pool. My Favorite....
Pretty much go with the flow mostly about "halloween" our minds are always working on bigger and better things around here....
The one thing you didn't ask is what we "DISLIKE"--- I will not TOLERATE a liar (wow, right back to being who you are not) or a THIEF....and I also do NOT babysit & don't expect anyone to do it for me.
I don't have a lot of friends BECAUSE those I choose to call friends are the REAL deal.
that oughta really scare em off, huh, jwtrojan44?

I like to sew and create costumes. I am a little crafty but I don't scrapbook (like everyone else in happy valley does). I like outdoor activities like camping, 4 wheeling, and floating around on the lake in a raft. I also like having pets. I have 2 dogs, 2 cats, 3 hamsters, 3 fish (in seperate little tanks), probably a few little mice running around at night, and some bats in the atic. Other than that I live a simple easy going life, well as easy going as it can be with a 12 going on 16 year old daughter who doesn't think that I (her mother) would know anything about being her age, because remember parents where never kids.
I'm just a little strange, just a little.

I'm not scared Moon!! LOL
I'm a huge football fan, even though I live in Detroit and rout for the Lions. I spend a lot of time shooting pool, even in the summer. I try to golf but I'm not very good. I'm a Michigan alumni, so the fall is devoted to the Maize and Blue. I have two cats, both short hair. I'll be celebrating my 2-year anniversary in June. And finally, I love horror movies!

oooo Now there's a good topic...
wow... my other interests. wow. Where to start?
ok, we'll start with the simpler stuff.
ELECTRONICS! Computers, good surround sound system for my TV, even a PDA. And other electronics, such as police scanners <--- FUN! Amazing what kinda stuff goes on around your town.
Outdoors stuff like CAMPING. Just we're what you call "luxury campers". HUGE tents, air mattresses, propane grills, amazing foods, music, propane heaters, even a small TV that runs off a battery pack.
Other outdoors stuff like biking canoeing and target shooting... yea... target shooting, just with BLOWGUNS!
I'm a BIG auto racing fan. Well... really just fan of anything with a motor that can be raced. -- which leads to my never ending quest of buying a dirt bike. I've wanted one for years and have finally been giving permission to buy one. Though now that I almost have the money, thoughts of saving for a car also come to mind.
Ok, going into even odder hobbies - FENCING
No.. not putting up fences in people's yards as my grandpa would believe, but the sport of fencing. Dueling with swords... yea that stuff. Our school has a huge team, and TONS of NJ schools also do. Fun sport. Though it also comsumes ALL of my winter time, and even much of the rest of the year.
What else... hmmmm what about my knife/ax/sword type stuff collection...
Did I mention I love lava lamps and lighting of the such...
yea, well you asked for it, and there it is. I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff. This all seems to still be too much on the normal side.

Oddly enough, I just answered this question on another forum that I visit...coincidence or some mystical convergence...
I love movies. I'm a self-proclaimed movie freak, although it probably won't be too self-proclaimed after this, because you'll be agreeing with me. I have more videos/DVDs than a lot of rental places. At last count (which was more than a year ago), I had about 1000 movies. Granted most of them are 3 per tape (back in my double VCR days and working at Movie Gallery). Now I'm quite comfortable in buying the movies I want on DVD.
I also love to design webpages. I hope so, because I have my own budding business (Phoenix 13 Designs)(http://www.phoenix13designs.com). Budding in the fact that at the moment I have no clients, but then again, I haven't really went out and attempted to get any, because of time constraints. I'm waiting for summer to hit to really push it.
I love writing. Poetry, short stories, novellas, articles, and letters to the editors. I even do the occassional screenplay as well. I send off usually about a dozen things a year to various places in an attempt to get published, and so far I have only had a handful of things published, but hey, I don't do it for the money. I also, at one time, had Image Comics interested in one of my comic book ideas when I was in college, but nothing came of it. Oh well, it was fun while the dream was there.
Speaking of comic books, I like reading them, when I get the chance. I stick with graphic novels of the X-Men titles and Batman.
I also read all the time, with my favorite writers being Stephen King, Tom Clancy, JK Rowlins, and Michael Crichton. I'm also starting to get really into HP Lovecraft again.
I roleplay when I get a chance. One of my four jobs is Webmaster for Visionary Entertainment Studios, which publishes The Everlasting roleplaying series. We just put out a new book, so check it out if you're into modern fantasy roleplaying (http://www.visionaryentertainment.com).
((For the record, if you're interested in my other three jobs they are 6th Grade Language Arts Teacher, Owner of Phoenix 13 Designs, and Husband))
And finally...I like wrestling. It's kind of embarrassing, but I still enjoy it. I get teased about it at work, so it's not too big of a deal. In college, I almost didn't go into teaching, because I almost got a job as one of the bookers (guys who write the stories) for WCW, but then they were sold to WWE, and my job chance went down the drain. Oh well. I still have a bunch of "contacts" that are now in WWE, and one or two wrestlers that I still keep in some contact with.
Kenneth: Is everyone there dead?
Steve: Dead-ish.
C.J.: What the **** does that mean?
Steve: Well, dead in the sense that they fell down. Then they got back up. Then they started eating each other.

That's cool, Mr. Nobody. Wrestling is really big where I come from, although I haven't watched it for a few years now. During the summer it's usually on in the bar on Monday nights during pool. Everyone tries to pretend they don't like it, but then you'll catch people staring at the screen all the time. hahaha

Now this is a cool topic.
I collect and grow antique roses. Have 5 that were only offered in the US for one year from France. Spent $70 on one that hasn't been offered in the US for over 200 years. YES I am one of only a hand full of people that have these 6 roses. There might be only 20 privet and one or two manicipal gardens that have these roses.
Deb and I like camping. Bought my wife a 15 x 22 ft three room cabin tent with a 9 1/2 foot center hight for our first anniversary. We now have 3 tents and more camping gear than we need. LOL
Collect antique Christmas items. Cool items are one box of unopened 'snow' for the 50s and a VERY rare 'shadow candle'. It's a small bake-light globe that you put a candle in. When lit the candle light shines through the detailing and in a dark room you can see Santa and all his rain deer flickering on the wall. For those of you that don't know, bake-light tends to explode if it gets to hot. Or if you throw or drop it. Also have an aluminum Christmas tree and color wheel. We have a total of 7 trees. One 8 ft. One 7 ft. One white 3 foot fiber optic tree. One 6 ft aluminum tree. One 16 inch aluminum tree and one 6 foot thin tree. The main tree in the living room has all the collected ornaments. All shapes. No, our house isn't big. It's only 1200 square ft. with two bedrooms and one bath. Just over decorated. LOL
We have 2 dogs and 1 cat. Doddie is a Australian Healer I rescued from the pound. (she's my pound puppy.) Nicholas is a border collie (aka). He's still a puppy at 4 months. Pumpkin is our black cat. We also have 2 aquariums and lots of fish. One 30 gal. and one 10 gal. tank.
I dabble in plant genetics and hybridization and am setting up experiments using hydroponics this spring.
All thow I don't do it unless approached by someone anymore I 'ghost hunt/investigate'. Have sense I was 14. Learned early the difference between a real haunting and haunted people. Been privileged to old books kept under lock and key. Have studied in Greek, Latin, Hebrew and a few otheres but only with reference material. Also used to have someone I knew in a monastery in Germany who I could get information from. (no. I'm not catholic) I don't do this anymore for personal reasons.

I like 4WD.. I go mudding as often as possible in my Jeep. In my spare time, when I can't go mudding I work on my Jeep and make it better for the next time I go mudding. Currently I'm re-painting the interior and preparing to get a spray-in-bedliner. Next is the 4.25" lift and after that I'll have some Super Swampers (BIG Tires
) Yay!.
When the weather wont allow me to do anything else; I draw, read, or watch TV. There's one day each week that I set aside for a tabletop game (I'm a BIG nerd) it's like D&D but alot more modern. For those of you who are familiar with the World of Darkness and the White Wolf line of RPG's, yea, that's what I do. I started playing about 6 years ago and I've been hooked ever since.
I used to write alot of short stories and poetry, but I quit doing that and started drawing. I still write occasionally but more often it's stories and backgrounds for my game sessions. Then I quit drawing and found a better form of artwork.. corpses, zombies, skeletons, props.. etc. I try not to work on more than one project at a time. If I have multiple projects, I've found that they all end up looking really bad as opossed to me taking my time on each one until it's complete.
I also live right next to a huge lake so I like alot of water sports.. Jet Skiing, tubing, Skiing, swimming, drinking.. etc. Those are all for me. I also love to go mountain biking, unfortunately there are no mountains in the state where I live, so I own no bike.. and dont get to cruise the bike trails anymore.
I've only played Paintball once, but that is DEFINITELY something I could really get into. Too bad it's so expensive. If the guns and ammo costed less I would go out to do that at least once a month. My idea of an ultimate good time would be Jeep-Paintball wars. Go out in the mud, two passenger and one driver per vehicle.. just drive through the mud all day and shoot paintballs at other Jeeps. Hells yea!
My three cats count as a hobby/activity.. they're alot of effort and alot of trouble and they all want ot be the center of attention. Other than that I spend as much time as I can with my boyfriend. Lately we've been going out alot and playing pool. I'm still learning and I'm still horrible at the game (I think it's all the Geometry, I was never too good at math). I think that's all there is.
