I don't pray much. But I'll certainly keep my fingers crossed for you!

I haven't posted here in a while, and most of you probably won't remember me. But it is ironic that I was going through some old posts and found this...here is why...
I was just finishing college when I was really active on this forum (about a year or so ago)- I graduated, and worked for a little while...two months ago I got married to a wonderful woman that I met in college. Two weeks after we got married she was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia. I am in fact writing this from a laptop in her hospital room, where we have been for over a month now. Basically our honeymoon has been spent in the hospital. I haven't left her side for over a month, and while she sleeps I surf the web to try and decompress, and forget about things for a while. Being on their list, I got an email about the new spooky town stuff for Lemax 2004, which in turn led me back here.
I was really looking forward to our first Halloween together, decorating as a married couple. She is 23 years old, and we start radiation treatment on her brain on Monday. Any positive thoughts or prayers would be welcome.

My dad just finished his radiation therapy for the same exact thing macabre. I know it's difficult to think this way, but prostate cancer is one of the most treatable and least likely to spread to other areas...thats the most important part! Still cancer is a scary word in any context. According to my father radiation was an absolute peice of cake compared to the biopsy that is done to actually detect the cancer in the first place! Let us knwo how your dad progresses. Prayers to your family!

lots of cancer survivors in my family. My husband and I are both survivors. My FIL had prostrate cancer and is also a cancer survivor. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I'm also sending you a big hug too! My insurance company sent me a Chicken Soup for the Soul book about cancer, if you can find one it is an awesome book. (It made me feel better.)

Lostboy, you have my thoughts and prayers. My Dad got the results of his PSA and it is at a 3 normal is 0-4 so he is in remission. I do believe in the power of prayer and you and your wife are in my thoughts Lostboy. Thank you everyone for your kinds words. It means alot. My Dad and our family are lucky that his cancer wasn't serious. (I mean nonlife threatening). Take care Lostboy.

Macabre and Lostboy: My thoughts, prayers, wishes, and best hopes are with the both of you. Cancer is terrifying and it hurts to have to see a family member go through something so difficult and know that there is little you can do to help them. I lost my grandmother to cancer, she had five different types and had gone through chemo four times in less than ten years. The final time she refused treatment. Recent technology and discoveries seem to have made things so much easier on people who are diagnosed now, I pray that your family members take well to any and all treatments they recieve. Keep your heads up and just do what you can to be as supportive as possible, trust in the doctors and always be optimistic of the work they do. Best wishes to you all.
