Actually, my active collecting has been on hiatus for several years now. Haven't acquired any major pieces of original art for quite some time, other than getting two convention sketches done at Wizard World Philly this past June. And only picked up one Sideshow piece last year.

Getting married, buying a house, and having a kid tends to put everything else on hold, y'know.

Spiders, not pets but anything with a spider on it (as long as it's not a cutesy one); also, gothic candelabras and candle holders.

I feast upon the beauty of things that others shun. In netherworlds and crypts I dwell. I am the alien one.
I wallow in the old world, in things that they condemn. Through solitude and shadow, the outsider I am.

Besides Halloween stuff, I collect Pez. I stopped collecting everything Pez & now stick to the small dispensers old or new. I don't do the oversized ones, the fuzzy ones, the cars, etc., just the generic dispensers you can buy everywhere. It's not as much fun as it used to be because now they're sorta catering to the collector so they make variants of things, package dispensers backwards on purpose, etc. Before mistakes were just that, mistakes & there were only a few, not anymore.

Even though they're doing that I still can't pass them up. Plus, unless you're collecting older, more expensive, rare stuff, they're pretty inexpensive & easy to find & easy to store too. I've got a couple large Rubbermaid containers full & without counting, I'm sure there's several hundred of those suckers, over 500 at least & that was the count about 5 years ago so now I know I'm over that amount.

I started with buying the holiday ones & putting them out on the mantle for the various holidays & it took off from there.

The other thing I got obsessed over this year are Ben Cooper/Collegeville masks & a couple of full costumes. I've got a couple shadowboxes for them but need a few more now. Once again, a cheap, easily obtained on Ebay collectible.

I wish my husband had my budget for his collectibles, he has a champagne taste in knives & guns. More knives than guns. He also seems to have this fixation with Patagonia jackets & fleecewear. He must have 20 of those suckers. I own 3 coats, one of them a Patagonia he bought ME!

We both like anything tiki. He tends toward Tikifarm mugs & Shag stuff, me I like anything, from cheap stuff to expensive mugs & vintage stuff. He bought a Witco bar from someone in PA & it took all day to find the place! One day there will be a tiki bar in the basement.
Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, the best damn little band you should be listening to!
