I'll try to be frank;
For as long as i can remember, i've always looked forward to October for two reasons; because it's my birth month and because of Halloween. And for as long as i've been old enough have the urge, i have tried to get into the spirit of Halloween by watching Halloween specials (or anything related to Halloween or the aspects of monsters and the supernatural). For as long as i could remember, it worked to an acceptable degree, but as time went on, i've started to feel like i'm on a time clock and that there wasn't enough time to watch these desired shows and movies before Halloween comes and goes. But even then, i somehow managed to get by. Now, in the time following my 19th Halloween, my main problem is that i can't seem to get into the spirit as much as i used to. Sure i can for a few brief moments, but more often than wanted, i'm plagued by vivid fantasies of other Tv shows and movies that i have seen and not always in a good way. Mostly, they're vivid "rewrites" as it were of those shows and movies, and they usually have the characters saying or doing things that embarrass them, make them sound bad or crazy, or just don't fit their persona. This is relevant because, at this time of year, these fantasies distract me from the Halloween stuff i'd like to be watching, since they don't fit with the aformentioned fantasies. Since this is Halloween related, i felt this to be a good place to lament about this. What's wrong with me?

Start building props my friend. A new found love for Halloween will stem from that.

Try to not focus so much on the TV shows. They are what they are. You cannot change them. I agree with the others- you have to stop watching TV and get some hobbies. Paper mache is cheap and takes alot if time- mache some pumpkins and paint them.

I think we all get in a "funk" every now and then. There was one year....only one lol, where I didn't really care about Halloween. I think it was just because I really had nothing to look forward to. Maybe try planning something with a few friends. Dress up in costume and go out dancing or out to dinner. Or have some friends over to pig out on pizza and candy while watching horror movies. Doesn't have to be a big deal. The simplest things can be the greatest! Btw, welcome to the forum

1. I know for a fact that adults can enjoy Halloween too
2. Maybe i do watch too much TV, but every now and then, it gets me through the day
3. For the record, i do have a hobby; I like to write stories

I agree...some times you get into a rut...maybe getting out and DOING some Halloween activities instead of depending on movies to get you there is in order. I find myself disappointed in a lot of the movies that are being played this year on AMC and Scyfy....isn't really getting me in the Halloween mood either. But just being outside with the changing leaves and the awesome weather is doing the trick! Buy some pumpkin spice coffee...that also does the trick
