So The Misfits are coming to a club venue this November, the hubby and I have a good friend that is buds with Jerry Only and was told we have to come, and bring stuff we want autographed as we will be meeting Only and the rest of the band... I generally like going to concerts and would love to see The Misfits live... but a major part of me is saying - no way on a Thursday night when I have to work the next day. (gah, I hate being an adult sometimes...) I also have a thing about crowded venues... and clubs, while smaller, tend to be more claustrophobic feeling. I get over it fast, but it's one of the negatives for me.
So I know I can go without much sleep, will get over the crowd, and enjoy myself if I go, but there is still a whiny part of me that is really wanting to say no. I've been working absolutely ridiculous overtime lately, so the sleep aspect seems more important to me now. I absolutely can't take the next day off as I'll just be coming back from a 9 day vacation the week before, so that would be really lame to ask off or call in that Friday.
Would you go?

Yep! I'll get all the sleep I need when I'm dead. Live it up until then!

I would go. I don't know what your vacation entails, but hopefully you should be somewhat caught on sleep by then. And yeah... it's The Misfits.

I'd go & I'd TOTALLY take off work the next day too with ZERO problem but then I have a job not a career. Eff 'em, do it anyway, go & take the day off, vacation the week before be damned. They went 9 days without you they can take one more.
I've done the whole work-the-day-after-a-concert thing & I swore I'd NEVER do it again. In fact, Sunday I'm seeing Roger Clyne & had no problem asking for Monday off. Actually I just said I wasn't coming in on Monday. I said it a month ago, but I didn't ask, I stated.
Oh yeah, did I mention that I GET TO SEE MY PRETEND HIPPIE ROCK STAR BOYFRIEND ROGER CLYNE ON SUNDAY!! OH YEAH I GET TO TOUCH THIS FINE HUNKA MAN ON SUNDAY NITE!!WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, the best damn little band you should be listening to!

I would absolutely go. It's only one night; you can probably get back on schedule within a day or two. I've been sleep-deprived at work before, but usually not because I was having fun the previous night. If I'd been at an enjoyable concert the night before, it definitely would have been worth it. And you don't want to end up saying, "I wish I had gone to that."

It comes down to the cliched but true idea of doing whatever it is that makes you happy, even if it may not be the popular choice. It sounds like something you may not have a chance to do again, but only you can decide if it's worth it to you at this time. No matter what you choose, I hope you're happy with your choice.
There's something wrong with me chemically, something wrong with me inherently.

Very much agree with everyone who says go. You only live once, & this is a golden opportunity to see the Misfits (the MISFITS!!) live. Hubby & I just went Tuesday evening to see Steve Earle live locally. It was awesome. Getting up at quarter to 6am the next morning wasn't, but I just went to bed early the next night.
So, in short, dooo iiiiiit!!
