Why is this forum so slow lately?

First of all I wasn't sure where to post this since there is no specific forum for service issues, so here it is.

Why is this site so slow lately? Is it because there are over 1000 people on at one time? It's not my connection 'cause other sites load just fine. Here it takes several seconds for me to navigate click to click. And trying to upload just one pic takes 2 to 3 minutes. Then when I try to move the pic into a folder half the time I get an error that it's an invalid link. At this rate it would take me 8 hours to upload 20 pics.

I don't remember it being this way over the years. Wasn't there an upgrade recently?

Yeah whatever this new version is, it's slower than it has ever been.

For me right now navigating is quick. But at noon today it was crawling, and there are more people online now then there was at noon. I haven't tried to upl;oad any pics.

I've tried getting onto the forum and it tells me that the server is too busy and to try later. I just thought that there were a lot of people on the forum at the time. Not sure what it may be, but it's possible since the forum has been upgraded recently there may still be some hidden kinks to work out with higher traffic issues?

We are getting many more visitors than ever before. With the upgrades, there are more features that utilize more resources. During peak times, we currently are experiencing some slowing. I am currently working to optimize things to speed things up.

Maybe we should start a schedule where everyone logs in on shifts. Members with usernames starting from A- C can log in around 7:00 a.m., then log out around 10:00 p.m. Usernames starting with D thru M can log in from 10 p.m. til 10:30 p.m.,... and so on and so forth. LOL j/k

It's been working pretty fast for me today And I'm also really glad that we're getting a lot more visitors. I've linked a couple times to the forum on FB for my halloween buddies back home.
