My sympathies go out to all of those left behind, whose lives will never be the same.

At the moment, Midnight Syndicate's "Solemn Reflections" is on the radio as I read this thread. It's quite fitting and beautiful, I must say. I'll never hear this song in quite the same way again.

Today, after two morning services, our Boy Scout Troop held a flag retirement ceremony. We properly disposed of (burned) over 100 worn, tattered US flags. At each service, we invited parishioners to participate by placing a piece of a flag on the fire. We had over 100 people at each ceremony, including several veterans and some retired police and firemen. Some of them wept as they burned their flag remnant. One elderly veteran saluted after he placed his flag on the fire./ It was moving and gratifying. We dedicated the ceremonies to those whoi lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks. Very gratifying experience for all of us.
Americans sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

They will never be forgotten! May they all rest in peace, every last one of our brothers and sisters we lost on this day ten years ago.. My sympathies go out to all the loved ones near and far!

I am a little late on this cause I was away but I will never forget that day and what I was doing and how it was to not see any planes flying in the sky. Can't believe it has been 10 years ago but still hurts my heart. Prayers go out to all who have lost a loved one and for the lives that were lost!
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before
