Hi all! I haven't been around in almost a year. I can't believe I've been working on this house that long! Arggghhhh!!!!
Anyway, I would like to make some spooky labels. Well lots of spooky labels for bottles of cat farts and jars of eyeballs and such. And after weeks of searching and reading and comparing I'm no closer to buying a laser printer than I was before I decided to look into them.
Have mercy on me and tell me wat the hell I'm looking for!
It just has to be a color laser jet printer. Doesn't have to scan, doesn't have to fax, doesn't have to be wireless. But it needs to be fairly cheap as these things go, maybe &200-$275. And the replacement cartriges also need to be relatively cheap, under $100 each and easy to find.
Now I probably won't be printing more than 10 pages a week if that much. And I have an ink jet all in one for scanning and I don't mind having to plug stuff into the laptop to print.
I am so not picky. Why can't I find a simple laserjet? *whine*

I'd check Amazon first, but laserjet is definitely going to be more expensive all the way 'round, including on toner.
Here's one I found on Amazon.
Amazon.com: HP LaserJet Pro CP1025nw Color Printer (CE914A): Electronics
You may be better off buying one that's a little more expensive & has more features & ditching the ink jet you have.
If you can't afford that, print out your labels on inkjet & then take your inket copies to Kinkos or some place like that & have them print out the few copies you need, it may be cheaper in the long run.Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, the best damn little band you should be listening to!

Yeah, I'd call around and find out who will let you run your own stock through their copier. Then get the waterproof full-sheet laser labels from onlinelabels.com and copy them onto these.
Another option would be to get Papilio waterproof inkjet labels and either the spray or clear laminate sheeting that seals it. I don't recommend the inkjet waterproof sheets from OnlineLabels.com, it's not durable. I haven't used Papilio myself but it's gotten good reviews from other people.
There is no such thing as a cheap color laser printer that has cheap cartridges unless you use refill kits. The consumer level lasers run on the inkjet model these days, sell a cheap printer and charge $60-120 per toner cart. The more expensive business printers will have expensive toner carts too, but they'll also be worth thousands more prints than the smaller ones.
