Middle son is home on leave for 10 days. Brought some pics from some recent MARSOC training his squad completed. He said he really loved this training. I can see why!

Americans sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

My wife did not know he was coming home. I picked him up at the airport in Cleveland Monday morning. He went to her workplace and when he went to her office her chair was turned so her back was to him. He leaned over the counter until she turned around. It took he about 5 seconds to register and then tears ensued! I wish I could have got it on film! He slept until noon yesterday and then spent time with some friends from high school. It's good to have him home for awhile!

now, that there is bad a$$! Gotta love a man in uniform. And I would know... all my husbands have been in the military.
When I was in the USAF, we went out and played war games kinda like this. Was fun 'playing' for a couple of days, but wouldn't want to do it for real... or like the Marines do it.
And great story, jdubbya, about the wife. Brought a tear to my eye.
There's something about a homecoming that chokes me up.

The rope training is called SPIE rigging. It's used for special insertion/extraction of troops in water/rugged terrain/etc.

So glad you and your family get some time with your son! They need it as much if not more than you do. My son just got home yesterday and even though he was at field camp for his major in Geoscience out west for 7 weeks I am so glad to see him home before he goes back to school. I can't even imagine how you and your family feel with your son away in the military. May God keep him safe and enjoy the time you have with him at home. Give him a big thanks for what he is doing for all of us at home! Great pictures!!!!
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before

What fun pictures. I can just imagine the little boy inside of him screaming, "Whoo Hoo!"
