Thread: Joplin tornado who's effected

Hey just wanted to see who else beside me is effected by the tornado on 5/22/11. I am fine and also my family in the area, my neighbor found my beagle in the ditch behind my house she had to have eye surgery on her cornea and her third eye lid pulled up over her eye to serve as a bandage. My roof over my garage and living room and dining room is gone. I was able to get quite a bit of my belongings not sure if the electronics will work and how much of my furniture is damaged by the water. It poured rain the whole next day. Unfortunetly all my decorations for halloween were in the garage and attic that now has no roof. I searched four different yards trying to find my props. I have found some things but I will have to look back at my pictures to realize really what is missing. Well I need to go for now have a good day.

Ah I'm so sorry for the losses and so glad your family and you okay! And lots of healing mojo to your beagle, poor little dog!

So glad that you and your family (except for the doggie, hope she does well) are OK physically. I'm so sorry that this happened to you. I had been sending up some prayers for the folks in Joplin, but now I'll send some up especially for YOU.

I feel very saddened by all the destruction and affects on those in the aftermath of this awful tornado.. I wish you and those affected including the families of those who were lost in this event the absolute best recovery and extend my support as well! My community firehouse is collecting clothing, blankets, toys, books and funds on behalf of a relief group. We hope we can all spare truckloads to help all that are in need right now! You are all in my thoughts! Keeping my fingers crossed for ya!

Arlita, I'm so sorry for all your loss & your poor injured pup. My thoughts go out to you & everyone who's dealing with the aftermath of that storm.

Arlita, I'm glad you, your family and your beagle are safe. That is for sure first and foremost! I am, however, sorry you lost so much of your belongings. I'm along the Gulf coast and got totally wiped out during Hurricane Rita when a tree crashed on to my house. My two storage buildings with all of my Halloween items and much furniture from my recent move were a total loss as well. Fast forward to Hurricane Ike; the only OTHER tree standing in my backyard fell - guess where? Yep! You got it. Back on the house.

I sympathize with the pain you're feeling now and the pain that's yet to come when you do look back and realize what you've lost. I know you'll keep in mind that the best "things" were spared - your family.

I so agree with Giggle and so sorry Giggle you had to go through that not once but twice! I can't imagine how terrible of an experience that must be Arlita! Give your doggie a kiss on the head for me and you take care of yourself as well.
