Reading the reports from Joplin is heart-breaking. Thoughts and prayers go out the people there.

Here's a video made by someone riding out the storm at a convenience store. They all had to run into a walk-in cooler as the tornado struck. There isn't much video but the audio is terrifying and scarier than any horror movie:

That video is terrifying. Thoughts & prayers to everyone effected by all the severe weather that's occurred this spring.

They're saying this is the worst tornado to ever hit the state, and it hits tiny little Joplin. My mom was born there and most of her family lives there still. She was able to reach my uncle last night, but can't today and there's supposed to be another storm. Please, please, please not another tornado. I hope my relatives are all under cover.

Would you believe we've had another set of tornado warning sirens?! Saturday and now today. This has been some spring...

Saw this earlier today. One of the guys that was in the first video I posted of what it was like going through the tornado in Joplin came back and recorded the aftermath. Stunning:

    Did everyone make it okay?

Also, has anyone heard from Raycliff Manor?

She still hasn't heard from him since the first night, but I think he's most likely okay. It's just so hard to reach anyone when even cell towers are gone. And if I recall correctly, he doesn't live in a neighborhood so much as a more countrified setting. Still Joplin, though.

I think I'm grateful my grandmother, who passed away a couple years ago, didn't have to see this. She lived in Joplin until the end of her life. My mother hasn't lived there in 50 years and it's been devastating.

I'm still keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers, nightbeasties. I sincerely hope your family and friends are all fine.

And sorry, Terra, but I don't know Raycliff Manor well enough to have heard from them. I'm keeping them in my thoughts and prayers too.
