Sometimes when I'm at home, it's too late to go anywhere (everything's closed) and I don't feel like doing anything but killing time, I go online and look for interesting things to do. But it seems that lately, there isn't much to do. Either I've gotten tired of it, there's nothing new to read, or the website's always having downtime. I read whatever posts interest me on this forum, read my LiveJournal friends page, and I'm pretty much finished within ten minutes or so. What are your other online pasttimes? This is just a question of curiosity.
Some of mine are/were/would be:
Listening to music/watching music videos on YouTube - but they never have good recommendations for me anymore, so it can be hard to find new stuff.
Listening to Last.FM - but they apparently run out of songs really fast.
Reading the morbid fact of the day - but they only update it every few months or less (I think they should change the name).
Wikipedia - but unless I actually have something in mind that I want to read about, it's pretty pointless. The random article button never brings up anything good.
And of course, Amazon and eBay - but they can get really expensive!

Oh, I go a little bit of everywhere.
hfboards for hockey talk
doityourselfchristmas - I'm getting into computer controlled Christmas lighting, and this website caters to DIY.
woot - quirky website. They put one item up for sale every day, starting at midnight, and it stays up for sale until it either sells out or until midnight the next night. Lots of tech gadgets, etc. You can only buy 3 items each night, and shipping is $5 no matter if you buy one or three, or if the item is 1 lb or 50 lb. Every now and again they have what's called a "woot-off", where they put items up for sale, one after another, and it goes on for a couple of days. The best thing to try to snag during a woot-off is a "bag of crap", which is a grab bag. Could be a bunch of junk, could be a HDTV, you just never know. Everyone goes after the BOC, so it's not very easy to score one at all.
troublefreepool - Great pool maintenance website.
Craigslist - just to go bargain hunting sometimes
Ebay, Amazon, etc...
and of course, halloweenforum!
Edit: a couple more sites...
youtube - all types of videos, but especially like old music videos from back in my heydey (80's & 90's).
spfreak - old South Park episodes
Yahoo News or other news sites, although sometimes I wonder how objective the news organizations are anymore."Hello darkness, my old friend...."

I check Craigslist from time to time, but mostly to check the musician posts, and see if there are any cool computer/creative gigs to pick up. Right now I'm doing some copyediting on short stories for a few extra dollars.
I had a Facebook account for a total of three months and don't miss it a bit. I think it's the most annoying site on the internet - even above Twitter. That's mostly because of the obsession people have with it, though.
Edit: Woot sounds like an interesting site...

Been playing a game on the iPad called Trade Nations. Also daily check Drudge, Woot!, Facebook, YouTube and a few others. What really takes up my computer time is crafting a tutorial or a new video.

About the only thing else I get online for these days is netflix.
I used to do a lot of gaming, but I find the monthly fee system they are all moving to rather offensive. If I bought the game, why do I need to pay to play it? Guild Wars was the last one I really got into playing. Pretty fun, #2 is coming out eventually, might look into that again, as they are promising no subscriptions...Last edited by UnOrthodOx; 05-12-2011 at 07:07 AM.

I know exactly what you mean, spiderqueen

I've been watching some movies and TV shows at MegaVideo (yesterday, it was Mad Monster Party? [I don't know why they used a question mark at the end of the title, honestly
]) and, also, episodes of The Walking Dead.

I've got a couple forums I post on besides here so I hit them at all times of the day. I youtube stuff from my childhood too like the original Speed Racer, Ultraman, my teen idols, stuff like that.
I check http://stfuparents.tumblr.com/ daily. The things parents feel the need to post on Facebook makes our goriest Halloween stuff look tame. Seriously, some of it is yipes. just. yipes.
I can also kill hours at ALL of the I Can Has Cheezburger sites.
The Monster Halloween List is also another HUUUUGE time killer for me.
Find A Death is fun to check in on too.Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, the best damn little band you should be listening to!
