Hi everyone
My husband and I are participating in The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life, being held on June 24, 2011. I am starting this thread in hopes of getting some donations for this wonderful organization. Donations go twords many things; funding for cancer research, providing transportation for patients to get their treatments, funding for the 'Look Good...Feel Better sessions, lodging for families of cancer patients who have to travel for their treatments and much more! I know times are tough for everyone right now, but every little bit truly helps. Please help me and my team, The Portuguese Warriors in raising as much as we possibly can. Let's join together as one and beat cancer!
Donating is easy. Simply follow this link http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?fr_id=31287&pg=entry Click 'Donate', click 'Donate To Participant', scroll down a bit and type in my name, Amanda Sienkiewicz, and click 'Find'. Scroll down and you will see my name and my team. Click on my name and it will bring you to my page. Click 'Donate' and fill in your information. I know it seems like a lot of steps, but it really only takes a minute
If you're not comfortable making an online donation, or simply do not have a credit/debit card, then checks are accepted as well. Checks MUST be made out to: The American Cancer Society.....NOT made out to me! Checks can be mailed to me and I turn them in to our team leader. If you choose a check donation, send me a PM and I will give you the address.

I just had my main credit card stolen and am awaiting the replacement to arrive. What is the deadline for making our donations? I always give for cancer anyway. It runs in my family and is an excellent cause!

Thanks, and no hurry on letting me know the deadline unless it's right away. I have to get back to work tonight and likely won't be back until tomorrow, but thanks again! If the deadline is soon, I will do the check thing, but I do expect a replacement card soon.

I'm very sorry to hear that, NOWHINING. I know how horrible it can be.

*sigh* I hate cancer. I lost my cousin to it a few years back and several friends have been fighting breast cancer. That's why I relay. I'm sorry you and your families have to battle with it too

As for the deadline, I'm pretty sure online donations can be made up until the day before the relay (June 23rd). I'm waiting to hear back from our team leader to know for sure. Any cash or check donations we recieve has to be turned in by June 10th.

I truly appreciate the support. Our team has been trying so hard to get donations, both individualy and as a team effort...but it's so hard to come by folks who are willing to part with a few bucks :/
