I'm trying to. Consolidating trips/errands, skipping some leisure driving,. It's really starting to pinch! We have a couple summer trips planned and I'm already saving some extra money just for fuel.

I'm definitely driving less - sure helps that my vehicle is unusable at the moment

I carpool! Every once in a while I'll slip in the back seat of a parked car and then wait for the driver to start the car and drive off. I rarely get where I need to go, but it sure beats paying for gas.

We're taking our Boy Scout Troop whitewater rafting in W. Va. in July. We'll be taking 28 boys and 6 adults. All of the drivers are driving SUV's so we're thinking close to $300.00 per driver for gas. Really going to squeeze us budget wise, but it's a trip we've planned for several months so we'll go regardless.

Wow! Have you considered renting out a driver of a charter bus/school bus? The gas expenses would be about 1/3 the cost.

Here in the Netherlands, we pay (after exchange rate/litre to gallon conversion) $10.16 per gallon. Fortunately, there are thousands of miles of bike paths, so I ride my bike everywhere and rarely use my car!

Agreed, I've made sure to make more than one stop when I go out. Also, am trying to drive more slowly, hard as that is, to try and conserve.

Man, you might have to start a savings account just for the gas money for your trip!

I'm lucky I drive a "company car" and dont have to pay for gas. I really only use my personal car on the weekends or to run to the store at night.
We dont need a body bag, we need a bucket.............and a strainer.
