For those following the bald eagles nesting in Decorah, Iowa ... the first one is hatched!
Judging purely by momma eagle making lots of noise, the first hatched about 1355 today. Dad just relieved mom so she can go eat, and there was a peak of one eaglet and one egg.
I'm watching on The Daily What, and here's the link, but just google bald eagles decorah iowa fish hatchery and you'll get a load of links.

Was out in garage ... two eggs and an eaglet. Somebody brought back food, and a parent is feeding the baby. Looks like rabbit or maybe cat.

At work we've been addicted to this! They feed about every hour or so. The third egg still hasn't hatched yet.

They're not as icky looking as most baby birds.

We've been watching since this past weekend also. It is very addicting and I find it hard pulling myself away from my computer, those eaglets are sooooo cute! Looking forward to number 3 hatching any day now.

Thanks for posting this diajoh! This is on our news every night! I really enjoy watching them. We have a bluebird house and have helped raised alot of broods.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before

The first 2 are really staying out more now. Mom/Dad keeps trying to push them back under but they keep oozing out from underneath!

So cute too, not your typical all-eyes-&-head nekkid baby birds.
