What do you have? We're looking to replace our older Sony rear projection model with a flat screen. We like Sony, and are considering the 40 inch Bravia. Wondering what you guys are using. Likes/dislikes?

We have a 42" Vizeo that's two years old and great for it's price. Nice and clear HD but it does have a weird way in which skintone shows. It's a bit layered-looking(?). Don't know how else to describe it. But, again, the price couldn't be beat (got it at Costco) and it's been rock solid. No glitches at all.
One thing to keep in mind: Years ago TVs used to come with good speakers built in. Well (guessing here), so many people have separate sound systems that the built-in speakers now are crap. Tinny little 10 watters. Didn't expect that and so we had to get a sound system so that added to the cost.
Our main TV is a front projector.

42" Hitachi plasma. We got it at least 3 years ago, and it's really great. 1080hd is sharp and crisp. Had no problems with it. Colors are really crisp and true. Sound is good (we can't get surround sound in our odd shaped vault living room) and the tv by itself has great even sound quality.
You can get a burn in on any of the new televisions but I think they've improved on it since we bought and shouldn't be a worry unless you pause it for hours. You also have to be careful to keep them perfectly upright or the screen could be ruined (so be careful moving it or taking it home - don't lay that sucker flat.
The hubby said that plasma is much better than LCD. You can sit anywhere in the room and the plasma screen will be clear, but an LCD tends to be hard to see at an angle... I'm sure there are other advantages but that's all I remember.
